Hey Monica,

I haven't actually put up a Christmas tree since 1997. My sister came to visit that year, when I lived in Texas. I am working again this year. I haven't spent Christmas with the family since 05. I do have some decorations out. I might go and buy a artifical tree, when they go on sale, but I don't know for sure yet. Hard to get in the spirit, when you live alone. I am very bah hum bug this year, but I am sure I said that last year too.

Gotta love Liz! She says it all!! Since 1998, when my brother died and left me to deal with my parents by myself (the nerve of him!!!), I have been bah humbug. Still did the tree thing for the kiddos, but since the divorce, they get three or four different Christmases so I don't feel the need to go all out.

Since Dustbuster is coming home for a month before he gets shipped off to Japan, I am going to get a damn tree and put it up. Ornaments will be an eclectic bunch of whatever I bought and cost was real cheap!! Lights are colored and twinkling. No tinsel as bad for the kitties.

Bah humbug to all and to all a good night!

I don't post here often...kinda more of a lurker but my tree is a 6 ft fake (two kids with allergies and asthma) The ornaments are store bought and homemade. I also have red and gold garland and gold ribbon wrapping the tree. The homemade ornaments are all made by my kids. The lights are clear and they stay on.I love my tree!

The fence is such a good idea. Last year my friend took pictures of her cat nestled inside the tree branches...I wonder if the fence would keep the kitty away.
