I had my 6 month check up with my surgeon this morning. I was thinking he might fuss a little bit at my weight loss being a bit slow lately....but, he was very happy with my progress and thinks I'm right on target...whew!

The absolute best thing is that with another round of blood work, he says my diabetes is in "remission"! whoooooeffinghooooo!! I was never on insulin...but knew that was the path I was on if I didn't make drastic changes. I also no longer have high blood pressure!!!

What a wonderful day! Merry Christmas to me! Improved health is what this surgery was about for me and to date....that is going really well!

I also no longer fall into the "obese" category.

I know I will always have to live this journey; I'm not crazy enough to think the work is done.

Congratulations on your achievements!  You are doing great!

I met with Dr. Takata last week for my final appt and I go tomorrow to Scripps Green for my lab work/admission stuff. I can't believe my RNY is next Wednesday, Jan 6th!  I start my fast on Friday, Jan. 1st! I am still full of mixed emotions but I know a year from now I will be happy with my decision. It's just going to be a tough few months coming up for me.

It was so nice to meet you in person a few weeks ago! Melissa, you and I need to get together regularly. I'm so blessed to have both of you for support. I really want to learn from you so I can be a "loser" too!
