OT eye update and Surgery Updates...long

Hey everyone,
I haven't done an update about my health and other things in a while so I thought why not do it now since I am in a sharing mood...lol

First my health:
So I went to the neurologist this past wednesday and she did an eye exam and I can read 20/20 which is great. I still have some blurry vision but I can read :) she expects it to keep clearing up in the weeks to come. On another note she got the spinal tap results back and she has diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis. I go back to her after I have surgery to talk about treatment options. I am doing well with the news and have been researching it to some extent. I cant research it too much I would go crazy.

So now for some lighter/ better news...my surgery:

I don't have a date just yet but I met with the psyc, internist, and surgeon on the 6th. Everyone basically said good luck with the surgery. I told them about the MS and they don't seem to be worried. The only worry was if I was on treatment that I may not heal as well so that is why my neurologist is postponing treatment until after surgery. I recieved in the mail my apprval for my hospital room and board and called Kaiser to confirm that it was an approval for surgery and they said YES!!! I then called Pacific and they said all they are waiting on are the dictations from the other docs so that Dr. Taller can review them and I can get my date. So hopefully next week I will know when I will have surgery.

As stressful as the last few months have been I am looking foward to this year. This will be a year of change and adventure for me.

Hugs and lots of prayers and support for you my friend.  I am very excited for your upcoming surgery and you know, perhaps the weight loss will have a very positive affect on the MS so that it stays somewhat inactive and managable.

Thank you for the support and prayers. They are always welcomed. I am sure that the healthier I am will help me with the MS and surgery will help me to get to that healthy place. 

It is waiting for a date that is driving me nuts..lol

I am so sorry that you have MS.  At least you know what is wrong and you and your doctor will know how to treat it.  I am happy for your surgery.  Keep us updated for the date.  You know you will be in my prayers and thoughts.

MS is not as bad as the other things that it could have been so for that I am greatful. I am also greatful that I know what is going on and I can deal with this head on.

Hopefully I will have a surgery date soon and I will be on the only losers bench I have ever wanted to be on...lol

While the diagnosis may not be the easiest, I am so glad you now know what is going on and can proceed to make informed choices and get what you need for the best outcomes. For the wls, this is so exciting that you are getting so close to the actual date. Congratulations!

You remain in my thoughts and prayers. 2010 will be your year of beginning, enlightenment and success.

Hi Nathalie.  I am so glad that you finally know what is what.  It is sooo difficult to go day in and day out not knowing what is happening.  
I am excited for you relative to your upcoming WLS and you are in good hands with Pacific Bariatrics! All the doctors and staff are great.
Please keep us posted and here is to a new you in 2010!
