Hello all, 3 1/2 month post op. 70 pounds down. Happy, happy.... Definately worth the trip so far. However, I need to know if I am an odd ball, or is this normal. Does anyone else have burping issues? I spoke with Dr. Wynn about this and she says it is air. She says somehow I am taking in to much air. Seems a little strange and can be embarrassing when the burps sneak out. I need to know if this is normal. Also, is it normal to have a harder time eating after 3 months then in the beginning. I personally want to thank everyone on this web site. I get so much information and eveyone is so nice. So all thanks for sharing all your messages. I hope to be able to make a meeting some time soon.

Hey Hey Hey ... it is good to see you!!! About the burping, as I stated in an earlier post about tummy noise .... not sure if it is normal or not, but I certainly dealt with it ... I had it a couple of times where I knew that ate too fast and must have swallowed too much air ... but most of the time when it plagued me was when I ate to much for my pouch or something didn't agree with the pouch. Then it was burp city ... and to be honest ... at that point I was in so much pain, I threw modesty and "ladyness" out the window as I entered burp city!!! I was so glad for them because they helped relieve the air from the pouch and allow the disagreeable food/meal extra room and thus hurt a bit less. This truly was a strange sensation for me, before surgery, my body was soundless essentially ... then suddenly I found myself burping like a drunken sailor (not to mention the not so little grumblings that the pouch did when it was happy with a meal). Eating issues after 3 months - I can not remember right off hand exactly when it was, but I certainly remember going through some pretty difficult eating issues at about that time. I seem to remember that I reverted back to the soft diet anytime I had issues with food and then worked forward once again. Be sure to watch closely that your problem is not something that needs the attention of the docs. Call them if there is the slightest concern. My biggest problem at that point was I just wanted to stop eating. I really had to push to eat all the time. But I knew if I had stopped I would be dealing with other serious issues ... so as much as I did not want to eat ... I forced it. Did not have to eat too much, just keep the mealtimes with a little something (protein) on my plate. Congratulation on such a successful loss this far. Isn't it amazing how very fast our lives change. So very good to see you are happy!!! Continued success!!! Hugs, Tammy

Thanks Tammy for the helpful information-from one drunken sailor to another. I will watch and see if there are certain foods which may be causing this. It took a couple ties being sick to learn to put a conscience effort into not eating fast. We have all learn from the problems we encounter when we do that. Thanks again, Lucretia
