Hello everyone - I have been very busy and away from the board this week and hope everyone is doing great. I wish anyone that has the surgery since the last mtg at PMRI a speedy recovery and even those before that have and those to come - I will you well too. It was great to see everyone again. I hope I have not left anyone out. My question is with cold/flu season fast approaching what are you able to take. I still have not had the surgery yet just still researching. Also - ladies: What about cramps/pms what do you do about them? Now Rob - if you have an answer, you can help there too MotherLove

Thank you. I know about the Motrim, Asprin - NSAIDS etc., and I do take the Arthritis Tylenol now (like 2-3 500mmg) and sometimes they don't work for crampls like good old Motrim. But are there other over the counter pain-meds you can take? Or are they the ones listed on your "Usually tolerated list"? I have never heard of Panadol or Peri-Colace Tks, MotherLove

Motherlove, I would say you would need to consult your surgeon or PCP at that point, just to be safe! You don't want to take anything that could cause problems with your new pouch. When in doubt call the surgeon or your PCP. ~Shelly

Hi Motherlove, Good question about flu season, I hadn't checked. For cramps, I take tylenol. It is not as good as the Aleve, but I am scared of messing my new pouch up with the NSAIDS. Actually there is a list running around of things not to take. I have it on paper if you want it. I didn't save the electronic version. ~Shelly
