Huh, I have a question about bowel movements!?!@#$% Facts: I had surgery 8/16! Eating pureed foods. Drinking as much water as possible between meals! I feel great! I haven't taken an iron suppl (I know that can constipate you). Should I expect to have regular ones? I thought about it today and I was like "Darn, it's been a while!" I had the urg the other night but nothing happened....2 little pebbles , that's it! (sorry, don't mean to be graphic) Help! I just need to know what to expect! Thanks, Angie

lol, I'm not disgusted, Angie. I'm newly postop too -- 8/3 and sometimes I go and sometimes I don't. It's weird, I just go with the "flow". If you are uncomfortable, you should call and see what you can take. I know between proteins and water there's not much time left, but squeeze in a little of the unsweetened applesauce. Good luck Dianne

Hey Angie, Glad you are doing well. I took Colace (stool softener), doc recommended, for several months post op until everything started working well on it's own. If you are uncomfortable, check with the doc, but if not, it's common for things to be very different for a while. Take care.

Everyone is really different. In time you will discover what is regular for "you". Some people go every day or only every few days. Just depends on the person. If you are uncomfortable then there may be constipation that you need something for. They will probably recommend colace if needed. The Happy Harry's brand is cheaper.

Angie, You sure are graphic. Constipation can be a real problem, and there are many ways around it. Early on they will probably have you do Colace, but I've found that the Atkins AM and PM cleansers work great. Definitely helps to keep you regular. Increasing fiber is the trick... Have fun but don't worry too much. Call the doctor's office or one of the nutritionists at PMRI to get additional and official input. Rob
