Does ketosis cause bad breath and foul gas?

Hi! Of course I have another question. I've seen discussions on other sites about the awful smells from the ketosis. I've even seen supplements designed to "help" gastric bypass patients with "odor problems" advertised in magazines. OK. What's the real story? During the 18-months of rapid weight loss, does the ketosis cause bad breath? If you have gas, it the odor severe? Do tell.

YES !!! It's a good thing that I like mints, because I've been using a lot of them. Sugar Free, of course!! I've also noticed that I could heat my house for the winter with all of the gas I've been putting out! Ken

It may vary per person because I know that I've been in actual large ketosis becasue of needing to test my urine for gestational diabetes. I don't have a problem with bad breath and as far as smelly gas - well occasionally but no more so then before my WLS.
