Ok, I've got a question. Is it alright to eat pasta once in a while? I did tonight and it was soooo good. Not alot, that is impossible, but enough to really enjoy it. It was with lots of hamburger and spagetti sauce. I also eat a half an english muffin about twice a week with peanut butter and sugar free jelly on it (Well toasted). This was in the packet from PMRI on a menu selection. So I ASSUME that it is ok? But I learned a long time ago to not assume anything. Any one out there have some imput on this subject? The lady who spoke at Saturday's meeting talked about not eating a ravioli while out to dinner got me confused. I've eaten "A" ravioli on several occasions. But can't get much more than one down. I thought it was fine. Somebody who knows more than me please give me some imput!!! Thanks, God Bless, Mama

The reason people don't recommend the pasta (spagetti or ravoli) is because they want you to get that protein in first. The noodles and starch tend to self-inflate themselves in your stomach filling up your stomach quickly so you may not be capable of getting your proper intake of protein. Same with the english muffin. But if you watch what you are doing and do things in moderation it shouldn't hurt that much, since you are using it assist with the protein intake. Some times you just need the variety. Can you imagine if no one in Italy was allowed to have gastric bypass surgery? Just my opinion... Rob

Yes you can have pasta, but always have protein with it! Like Rob said, becareful because it does swell in the pouch. Make sure you eat it very slow so you don't overflow the pouch. The english muffin is fine as long as you have it with some protein, like peanut butter-cheese-ham. Always remember your protein. You are doing great! Best Wishes. Nicki
