Elissa..

Thank you for your welcome and your support..  I am  still keeping a food journel and I
exercise on a daily basis.  I am deligent about my doctor appts and have blood work done
every 3 months for my endocrinologist (who is also my bariatric endo as well).  I am worried
about my stomach stretching as some days it seems that I can eat endlessly and other days
I can only eat something small or I have a great deal of pain or vomit.  I am thinking of doing
the 5day pouch test if I can figure out how to do it while at work.  I need to go out and buy more
protein drinks so I can  persue that option.  I do worry that my pouch will not remind me to stop
eating..... I do admit that I am very careful about what I choose to eat but anything can cause
weight gain if done to excess.  I am looking forward to meeting other people like myself that I
can share my success with and my failures and my fears... I hope to meet you there.

  ellen

by the way how do I post a picture?  I dont even think that I have a pre surgery pic that I can put
on the computer....

hello

i'm ellen and i just joined this online group.  i go to a PT center monday-thursday but
friday sat and sun i am on my own.  i like to dance around the house with my ipod on and even
continue dancing while i watch tv.  we also do wii fit in the house as well.  if you have steps
you can walk up and down multiple times as fast as you can.  do weight lifting by carrying around cans of different weights as you can tolerate while dancing or walking... you could even
get ankle weights to wear around the house while doing everyday chores....

hope it helps..  i've lost 205lbs so far and have another 20 to go before my continued plastic
surgery this summer... wish me luck!

Hi Ellen. Welcome. Sounds like you have a good outlook. We all fear gaining. It scares us all. It should. We have had major surgery done to alter our body's and it can be over-ruled. We can stretch our new stomach's back if we don't follow the basics. Journaling helps. Being involved in an exercise program helps. Attending support groups helps most of us.  Yearly follow-ups are mandatory to have our blood work checked. Protein, vitamins and liquids are non-negotiable.

I have posted the Delaware list of support groups, but if you need me to email it to you directly, just let me know. Most of all remain positive & focused. Good Luck. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hello .... I'm new here...... I'm Ellen and i had Bypass on Aug 29'07... I've lost 205lbs so far and
am not done yet.  Would love to talk to anyone who wants to talk to me.  I have a terrible fear of
gaining weight back as I have seen other people gain.  I will be having more plastic surgery this
summer and am looking forward to the continual changes in my body.  I hope to hear from you all.  I am going to try and go to the support group at Apex on 2nd monday of the month.. I hope to
meet some of you there.

Congratulations on 6 years, Elissa! Think of all the accomplishments you've made, and the lifestyle changes you have chosen to make, and kept up with.  HOORAY FOR YOU! You are truly an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work.

I agree, the staff at CHRIAS, PMRI, and my support group leaders are wonderful, and help us all to succeed!

Hope to see you next month at Victory. Hello to all of my OH friends, too! Hope all is well is your worlds.

Take care,
Leslie
