My surgery is scheduled for Monday, Jan 18.  At my pre-surgery appt with Dr. I, he told me I only needed the liquid diet 2 days before surgery.  I think it depends on the size of your liver.  He can poke around and judge whether he thinks he will have enough room to move around with all his "equipment".   I had also lost a little over 10 pounds during the 6 month classes and clearances.  Maybe that made a difference.  I think the idea of a 2 week OptiFast diet made me more anxious than the surgery itself!  At least I'll be asleep during the surgery

I didnt have to do the Opti-fast diet, just the 48 hours of liquid diet, did he tell you that you needed the Opti-fast? Good luck to you, please keep us updated through it all, if you are going through christiana then have internet there, if you are wake long enough to go on, lol .. I posted once from there. But spent most of my time sleeping, or walking

 Hey, all -

I'm 12 days out and getting nervous.  I see Dr. Irgau tomorrow, I assume to start Opti Fast prior to the surgery...... I'm looking forward to it, but am starting to get worried...... my husband actually said to me today, "you better live"... things like that make me nervous, though I know it's not him getting sliced and diced...... he worries, cause he has no control over the situation and has to wait patiently for the result with my mom keeping him company.

Good news is, I have my first 2 weeks sewn up with company/support.....my mom and dad are staying my first week, my baby sister (she's 23, not really a baby) for the second week.  It's coming so fast!  So many emotions.....all of them in concert and conflict all at the same time......

Wondering if someone would like to be my angel on this board?  I would like to let everyone know how I'm doing once I'm post op.

Anyone? Bueller?
*hugs*
<3
