Hi Vonda,
I was at Christiana and had surgery the same day with Dr. Irgau. They are the best, and I feel like you. I'm trying to get my fluids in but it does seem hard. I have a little pain when I take a deep breath, but nothing that I can't handle.
I'm not really feeling that hungry either, but I did manage to get down maybe 4oz of the health wise chicken broth soup from Chrias. It didn't taste that bad and has 15 grams of protein.

I just wanted to know how long we need to sip. I gonna have to reread some info.

Congratulations on your surgery!

The Drs and the hospital are the best!

Just take a sip at a time and you'll do great, remember this surgery is a tool and not a cure all and you'll be fine.

Good luck!

I had my RNY on Wed Sept 16th. Everything went well.  I was surprised I don't have any pain at all. Dr. Wynn is the best!! The hospital staff at Christiana is first rate. Now I guess the rest is up to me. I came home Fri morning and sipped on a bottle of water all day and didn't fini**** all.  How in the world am I gonna get in all my fluids?? I'm not feeling hungry.

Take care,

Vonda

Today I had my Psych Evaluation with Dr. Martin and everything went well.  She'll be sending Dr. Wynn and my PCP the clearance for surgery.

And I got the results from my Endoscopy. Turns out I DON'T have H-pylori which is great, but I don't have clearance quite yet.  I need to go back in 6 weeks for a follow-up.  I'm not quite sure why.  When I spoke with the doctor's assistant over the phone, I couldn't quite understand what she was telling me because of her thick accent.  I plan on going into the office tomorrow to speak with her face to face to find out exactly what the problem is and why I need to go back in 6 weeks time.

It is hard to believe that it is almost time, but it is.  Patrick is going to graduation with us and I know he will be the proud dad as well as John Janowski, they have both played an important part in Jonathan's life over the years.  I am sure you will see Jonathan up at the firehouse on his leave, it will be hard to keep him out of there I'm sure.  I hope he doesn't spend his entire time up there, he has a lot of people who want to see him.  I will post pictures as soon as I can.  If anyone has Facebook friend request me and you will see the pictures as soon as they are taken.

3 weeks and counting.  YEAH!!!!!
