Long story about my Cardiologist. Abbreviated version: he is totally against Bariatric Surgery. So I'm looking for recommendations on another Cardiologist. It's my fault because I didn't go with one that was on the sheet in the binder I got from Dr. Wynn. However, I do have a stress test scheduled for this Thursday and am waiting for a date for a sleep study. Once those tests are done and the results are ready, I plan on taking them to a different heart specialist. Going for a chest X-ray tomorrow (have appt with Pulmonary specialist early next month and having an EGD on Sept 1st. Slowly but surely, things are being accomplished. My calendar has never had so much stuff written on it. LOL

Dr. Adeleke is WONDERFUL. My husband and I both use him. I went to him for my clearance and have stayed with him since. You have a long wait in the waiting room ( I just bring a good book ) but I always feel like he spends as much time as I need and I never feel rushed once I get in to see him. Good Luck.

With your Journey to WLS. I my self have to do the 12 week prg. Did you get the clearances from your other Dr's? Like the Heart Dr, Pulnonary Dr and GI Dr... if not go ahead and get them out the way now...especailly your sleep study.. that is if one is needed.

Thanks so much for the info. Dr. Adeleke was one of the Cardiologists on the list in the binder given to me by Dr. Wynn.

I didn't have a cardiologist in mind, but a friend said she went to Dr. Adeleke.
I thought I would give him a try. At first I was a little upset because I had to wait 2hours before he saw me.
But I must say Dr. Adeleke is a very excellent cardiologist. I have been to his office a couple of times now and the wait is better. I guess it was a bad day.
If you want to see him, the appointment has to be made through Chrias. Hope this helps.

To get clearance for surgery, instead of making an appointment with one of the Cardiologists recommended by Dr. Wynn, I went to one I had previously seen a number of years ago. While in his office, although he's scheduled me for a Stress Test and and a sleep study, he essentially told me he won't give me clearance because he's completely against Bariatric Surgery. Needless to say I was devastated and left his office with a feeling of hopelessness. What I plan on doing once I get the results of all my tests, is to take them to one of the below mentioned Cardiologists.
Has anyone been to any of the following Cardiologists and if so, what is your opinion of them:

Dr. Furey
Dr. Pastore
Dr. Leidig

Congratulations on choosing to have WLS. I didn't have Dr. Wynn but she along with the other Dr.'s are all wonderful!

I have gone back and forth on Band and bypass as well...But ultimately have settled on the bypass...because of insurance and the frequent trips to the dr. would not be compaitable with my life at them moment. I say its natural and normal and they are probably use to this.
