What does Rita's use to sweeten the Sugar-Free Italian Ice flavors?

 

We sweeten our Sugar Free flavors with a combination of sugar alcohols and sugar substitutes. In addition to sorbitol, we also use the sweetener Aspartame, also known as NutraSweet™, in our Cherry, Mango-Peach, Pineapple, Root Beer, and Tangerine Sugar Free Italian Ice flavors, and the sugar substitute Sucralose, also known as Splenda®, in our Chocolate and Pink Lemonade Sugar Free Italian Ice flavors.

Thanks for posting this -- we are always looking for sugar-free options for my son with type-1 diabetes. Anything with aspartame is out for him (it's a neurotoxin and our pediatrician says her oncologist warns all his patients about it, too) but I see from the company info above that they do use Splenda in two of their flavors, we're cool with that!

How are you doing getting in the proteins? Did you loose your hungry feeling? Doing any protein shakes? Gosh feels like yesterday I went thru this. Had major trouble getting in even applesauce.
