Judy, It was a very quite weekend around here. I was home alone Friday Night and Saturday morning. My neighbors came down and wanted to take me out to dinner. I couldn't go for my grandkids were coming home at 5 so we went out for a late lunch. Saturday night I was making Homemade chow mein and my can opener broke. I was in my pjs so going to Walmart was out. I put everything away and went to bed. Sunday I bought a can opener and finished making my chow mein. It was easy now for most of the cooking was done.I made chicken and shrimp. It really turned out good. I sent some down to Debbie. She called and asked if I had any left for her and Kent wanted more for today. It must of really been good. I bought this old cookbook ( fund raiser style )at the thrift store for $.50 and it had lots of good recipes in it. The chow mein was one. I am also working on an Amish Friendship Bread which takes 10 days. Actually a friend at work gave a batter to me. I am on day 7 today. I will back it on Thursday. I will bring the recipe to the Victory meeting. In the mean time I will try to adapt it to a sugar free version and see if it works. See all lighter. Joanne

The weekend was basically uneventful. The weather was so nice on Sunday. Ed put brakes on my car and fixed my windshield wiper arm. The bolt holding it in had loosened so the thing was wiping clear past the door frame. Today he will change the oil. Have to be sure it's all good before driving to Michigan on Wednesday evening. Have to get the van title signed over and have some papers notarized so I can finalize my legal guardianship of Karissa. I only have 3 full days out there so I'm going to try and see everyone.
I got some much needed work done around here. I finally got to digging through the piles and baskets of clothes and managed to make room in some dressers for my stuff. Ed hs a monopoly on the closet so I now share a couple of drawers with Alex.
I baked 23 dozen cookies to sell at the flea market/grand opening of the bait and tackle shop up on Rt 1, by Altlantic Cellular. Troop 105 will be there at 6am selling breakfast sandwiches, coffee, muffins, and my cookies to help raise funds for Relay for Life and summer camp. Please come by...It's next Saturday, April 4; from 6am till whenever...support our local scouts. Dont forget to visit my personal Relay for Life page at : www.main.acsevents.org/goto/scouts4cure2 Consider even a small donation, or a luminaria. Thank you.

I am so sorry to read of the passing of your MIL. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Doug and the rest of the family. It is hard, but Doug is fortunate to have such a loving person to help him through this. I just lost my pop this past September. It still hits hard at the most unexpected times.

Hello everyone, I wanted to make sure that able to hold my food and liquids down before I sent this.
My operation went ready well, I was surprised that I did not have any pain but made sure that I hit the button just in case. I just could not wait to get home and I mean it. I contacted my mother at 7:00 am to come pick me up, all I wanted to do is SLEEP.
I just could be get comfortable at all. I was on a clear liquid diet for two day after I got home and I could not wait for FOOD. After all, I was on the opifast diet since March 7 so I was so bored in what I was eating. But I was surprised that I have had no problems at all in drinking and eating. That God. But I am doing really well and I want to thank everyone for your support throught out this.

Deanna, I am so sorry for Doug's loss. Please take comfort in knowing her pain is gone now and she is with God. I will never forget the day Bob died and my grandson prayed and thanked God for taking PopPop to Heaven and releaving him from pain. Please call if you need to talk. See you lighter. Joanne

Hi Deanna:
I am so sorry to hear of you and Doug's loss and I understand what he is feeling as I just lost my mother in June of 2008. I never dreamed that I would live to see the day that my mother would no longer be with us and watching her suffer for 7 months was the most painful thing I have endured in my 45 years of life. Watching our loved ones suffer and die shows us how much we need God in our lives so that we may all one day live eternally in paradise with him if we believe and live Christ-like lives. I know that one day I will have the opportunity to see my mother and other loved ones I have lost in death again so I pray that you and Doug will hold on to that hope and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
