From reading your messages I could see your frustration on fills.  I wanted the lap band way back when just because I didn't like the idea of not getting the right nutrients or dumping.   But after reading all the things you have to do with the band....maybe the RNY wasn't bad for me.  I don't think I would have had the patience you did to keep at finding the answers....I would have given up a while ago.  I am glad you found the sweet spot.  Its good to be there and finally feel the tool is working for you!  Happy exercising!

Kathy, I have checked out your site. You guys are a busy troop. You are always helping in the community. You should be very proud of your boys and leaders. Alot of people could learn from your troop. Maybe your boys should write the govener on Volunteerism. I am so proud to have a troop like yours in my neighborhood. See you lighter. Joanne

Elissa, I have to go back and see Dr. Koch next month then he said we will get the ball rolling. You know all the hoops we have to jump thru. I am hoping for June.  I am going out on Early retirement then. I will be working part time at the same job and getting my pension. See you lighter, Joanne

Please come to the DS board - the list of DS Revision surgeons is very short.  The closest one to us is Dr. Greenbaum in Willingboro, NJ.  He has an excellent reputation as a DS Revision surgeon and has been the go-to man for several of our RNY-to-DS revisions.

Feel free to ask me anything about the DS.  There aren't many of us in DE!

Oh, I might go!  That would be cool!!  There are a bunch of the Philadelphia-area DSers that I hang out with occasionally that might go too.  Thanks for pointing this out - October is usually when I have my yearly follow-up meeting, too!  I can kill 2 birds with one stone this way!

I had a great time at the PA OH event.  If a DE group goes, we should do something while we're up there!

Just checking in today to see what's up in my state!

I've been busy, but today I made time and started a Couch to 5K training program.  There's a 5K run I want to do in July, and knowing me, I won't be near ready unless I start training NOW.  And I hate running!  LOL - what was I thinking?!

Oh well.  It's one for the Bucket List, anyway.

Best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery too!

Don't forget to take ChapStick to the hospital.

I overpacked for my RNY stay . . . the ChapStick was the only thing I actually needed!

p.s. go to www.thinnerself.com and key in all of your measurements so you can track not only your weight loss but your inches lost as well . . . there is also a really cool prediction chart based on your age and activity level that will predict about how much weight you should be losing each week (RNY procedure patients only).
