You could go higher on the D if you wanted, honestly.  There are non-ops that are D-deficient who are taking higher doses.  If your labs are coming up, though, wait and check the D values.

I'm so glad you're taking more!  How much calcium are you getting now (in mg)?  I think the doses on those Citrical tabs are 2 pills = 600 mg?  I take 3 doses, and that's kind of a minimum for the DS.  You may want to think about adding a bedtime dose of calcium, too.

Hooray on the 3 pound loss!

I picked up the Citracal Calcium Citrate + D3 at Walmart.  I got the bigger bottle 180 coated caplets.  I think it was around $10.00.....I picked up a few things while I was there.  I am taking two of these at lunch and two at dinner.  They aren't chewable and they are big....so I have to have a flavored liquid to swallow them.

The Nature's Made vitamin D, I picked up at Happy Harry's when they were doing a buy one get one for free.  They are 2000 IU's, so I am taking one in the morning and then 2 at lunch and 2 at dinner.  I noticed at Walmart that they do carry 5,000 IU of vitamin D there....so once I am done the smaller dose...I am going to pick up the higher dose.

Dr Peters mentoned at the PMRI meeting that he tells his patients to take 10,000 IU of vitamin D a day. It was one of the questions that I asked him.

My spine surgeon, told me that you cant overdose on vitamin d.  He didnt have gastric bypass, and he is taking 10,000 IU of vitamin d a day.  He also has a vitamin d deficiency.

Great job.  I'll have to check with primary doctor prior to increasing my D that high.

This morning, I had a bigger than normal breakfast.....since I wont be having my mid morning snack.

I had two scrambled eggs with one slice of low fat cheese with onions and peppers, a slice of dry Arnold's protein bread and a slice of pineapple. ( I feel stuffed like thanksgiving)

Eggs always seem to make me feel really full.

This morning I got on the scale and dropped 3 pounds.  The only thing different that I did was up my vitamin D to 10,000 Iu and change my calcium to calcium citrate.

I have heard that calcium and vitamin D helps with weight loss.  I hadn't noticed it before, but I think it might have been cause I was taking the wrong amounts and the wrong type.

I picked up Citracal Calcium Citrate + D3 and will be taking 2 servings......one at lunch and one at dinner.

Thank you everyone for helping to get me on track.

For breakfast this morning I tried something different.

I made my quaker oatmeal and added a scoup of vanilla unjury protein powder.  OMG.....it was delicious.  My new favorite breakfast.  I am also having 1/2 cup of skim milk and 1/2 blueberries.

And the best part....total of 29 grams of protein.

Last night I stopped at Pathmark and bought 3 Chobani greek yogurt....I am going to retry in tomorrow for my morning snack.  I didnt realize that they had 16 grams of protein.  A lot more protein than my Dannon Lite and Fit Yogurt that I was having.
