Fish Zole (Flagyl)
Hi LeeAnn, I just had to tell ya that since you gave me the advice on the fish zole, Ive been taking it and holy mackeral andy, NO GAS!!!!!!!! Thank You so much for the info, it saved my tummy, and family from the continuous torture! (although it was fun to blast them outta THE ROOM sometimes, paybacks ya know)
Thanks again,......................Mooka the lurker

I just love it when things work out this way! The flagyl was def what I needed and thanks to you, I got it cheap and without a script. My hubby is especially greatful, and my kids!!!!! LMAO!!!!!Now I do have a question for ya. Do you take the culturelle on the same days as the flagyl or on the opposite one? I know you told me this but I forget the answer. Other then a hernia that's huge and giving me some tummy aches the last couple of days, I'm doing great, and you look fantastic BTW!!!!! I was checking out your profile, and the change is amazing! All of us have4 come so far in the last year and a half, I love my DS!!!!!! Thanks again,..........Mooka
I TRY to remember to take it on the same days (Mon/Wed/Fri) as the Flagyl, but I forget a lot of the time. I'm thinking it's not doing much since I don't miss it when I forget to take it.
My doc suggested I try KEFIR since I would LIKE to not have to take the Flagyl so I can drink
. There was also that lady that used to post here a lot (Rhonda?) that swore by Kefir. I might look into that.......Gonna do a google search....

Well, I googled the kefir, and all I can say is EWWWWWW! It sounds disgusting!!!!! Also, at my support grouo meeting wed, someone brought up about drinking after surgery, and my doc said that surgery puts a strain on your liver, and he wouldn't reccomend drinking more then rarley because it could do liver damage? Just something to think about, and I know ya didn't mean going out and getting polluted all the time, but he was talking about only having 1-2 drinks every once inawhile. OK, gotta get to work. Enjoy your kefir curds! EWWWWWW,..............Mooka
Hmmmm.... I may need to remember this for next winter! Much as I hate the thought of taking an antibiotic continuously, a house that's closed up tighter than a drum and a DSer who loves her carbs do not work well together. Have you ever tried dropping one dose a week, down to 2? I was just wondering how little you could take and have it still be effective.
Ya hadda say froot loops, didja? Guess what I want now.... (OK, really I'm craving Cocoa Krispies, but it's a short jump from thinking of one cereal to another!)

I think 3x a week is about the least you could get away with. I mean when I go for one of my stints without it, I notice the DAY AFTER I take it, the gas is gone. So after about 3 days without, the gas returns.
Not that I know what the heck I'm talking about, but I think Flagyl is different than other antibiotics in that it's kinda got an anti-fungal type action. So I don't think taking it regularly will reduce the ability of other types of antibiotics from being able to help you if they are needed. Shoot, my daughter takes Cephalexin (Keflex) everyday for her acne, and the doctor says that she'll only have resistance to Cephalexin and not other types of antibiotics. I'm thinking it's okay.
And my doc didn't hesitate to prescribe it yesterday. It even says on the bottle, "take as directed on Mon, Wed, Fri" and I'm the one that told her that's when I take it! I
docs like her!

OK, here's a too much information question for ya LeaAnn. Ive noticed when I take the fish zole lately, in the evening I get vaginal and rectal, and the whole area itching. I looked up the side effects of flagyl, and itching was not one of them, so what do ya think? The weird thing is it happens in the evening. I was also thinking it could be caused by my girdle that I wear to hold in my hernia. The itching seems to get really bad when take it off, so what do ya think? Ive been having to pop a benedryl to stop or slow down the itching. HELP!!!!! Thanks,.....................Mooika
