Just a me update!

I'm in love with Dr. Inabnet.  He's the one I've been looking for.  He feels confident that he can do the DS all in one shot.  He's not charging me the $4,000 that Dr. G's office wanted.  He didn't right off the bat ask me to go for the Gastric Bypass instead like Herron and Roslin suggested.  He did say that his only concern, after he staples off the sleeve he's concerned that since I already have a staple line that there may be a narrowing towards the bottom and that would change things(I have always wondered about this too).   I was put on a liquid diet for one month.  Picture this, I caught a stomach virus before I went to see him so I didn't eat anything for one week and then a liquid diet....Oy Vey!  I can't complain, I really want this so badly that I'll do what I have to to make it.   I'm still weak from the virus so I haven't gotten very much done with my packing for my move and it is only about two weeks away. So lets see what happens now with all of this and if goes through. Thanks for all of your support and for never letting me give up!

Oh Evelyn, It sure does sound like Dr. Inabet is a *perfect fit* for you and I'm so pleased for you.  I'm so very proud of you for keeping a stiff upper lip and keeping your eye on the *prize*. You betcha you can handle the liquid diet for a month.  After everything you've gone through to get this surgery, it's going to be a walk in the park for you, Sweetie.

Love and hugs,

Isn't it great when you find a physician that "gets" you!  I am so happy you found him and that he thinks he can do the surgery.  You just need to concentrate on taking care of yourself and well, let everything else take care of itself.   Red

See, you get it too.  It was like when I sat down to dinner with the DS buddies in New York.  I felt in total peace and security.....I could've let him scrub down and switch me right there and then....  Thanks for the advise.  It is so very hard for me to take care of myself. Evelyn

I'm so glad you feel good about Dr. Inabnet.  This is a big deal, especially since it is a revision, so having great faith in your surgeon is paramount.  You've got a lot on your plate, but I know you are up to the challenge.  If you get feeling shaky with the liquid diet, you know where to find us!  Sorry about the virus, though.  Just be sure you push lots of liquids, because you can get dehydrated too.  My 24 yo healthy daughter ended up in the hospital from dehydration from a stomach virus.  I was surprised by this, but it can happen.
