Can we eat grits?  I know it is a carb but I'm craving cheese grits and shrimp.  Lord, I sound like a pregnant woman...

Grits should be fine, really!  Just take it easy, first off, to be sure your body is okay with them.  I am not so sure about the shrimp right now -- you are still in the soft stage, right? But good ole cheesy grits, with some soft scrambled eggs mixed in ... hmmm I need to start thinking about breakfast!!

I'm so making them today or tomorrow.  Cheese, butta and maybe shrimp...maybe I'll wait a bit on those.

Try yourself some grits if you're craving them, Betty! I'd make sure they were pretty runny. I love cheese grits with plenty of butter!

And the craving thing has been weird to me since surgery... It's exactly the way it was for me when I was pregnant.

I craved olives for about a month. Had my BP checked and it was low, so maybe I was craving the salt?

Lord everytime I see the word grits I can help but to say "Girls Raised in the South" in my mind.  So you can imagine my chuckles reading "Can we eat grits?"..   I don't see any reason why you can't eat grits. Load them up with butter and your killing a craving and getting some good fat in too. :)  edit: Oh and since you're cheesin' em up that's good protein and fat as well.  Not sure on the whole shrimp thing though.....?? I'll try anything once!

Oh, yeah, grits were a staple in my household...you can add shrimp sataued in bacon crisps and then some scallions, diced tomatoes and little bit of onion...hum, good.
