I wasn’t kidding boys…. This post is about PERIODS!!!!!!!!! So…….. run AWAY!

Ladies….. I just have to share my big and exciting news…… I have not had a period in close to 4 years, I think. I’ve had rare spotting, where the toilet paper was a little pink, but not enough to even use a pad. Well, yesterday my period came back FULL FORCE! Man, in fact, this is the heaviest period I’ve ever had. My doc and I figured losing weight would normalize my cycle but I’m shocked by how FAST it happened. I’m 5 weeks out and 40 pounds down…. I guess that was enough to kick things into gear.

And btw…. I forgot how much this SUCKS!! The cramps. WOW.

Am not surprised at ALL.  Fat stores estrogen and losing fat releases the hormone back into your system.  And not surprised it is heavier than you've had.  Basically your body is doing a natural D&C.  And don't be surprised if Aunt Flo visits again before you think she should.  Your body is going through SO much.  Flo just wants to be sure things are kept clean in there. And rejoice, because this is a cancer preventative.  Not saying you WON'T get uterine CA, but you are less likely to do so if you can keep it cleaned out. It came to pass ... Ample hugs ...

Very interesting!  I did not know that fat stored estrogen.

HIJACK............... I have a question for you.  You say keeping things cleaned out will reduce the chances of uterine cancer.  I go for my DS in less than two weeks.  At the same time I'm having a tubal.  The OB I met with in the area suggested an endometrial ablation.  They remove or scrape the uterine lining to reduce (often times it will completely stop) menstrual bleeding.  I have medium heavy periods with small clots and low iron.  The OB seems to think this would be a good thing for me since my iron will probably be even lower post surgery due to the malabsorbtion.  He feels this will (possibly) help with my iron deficiencies.  I asked if this will send me into early menopause or what any other side effects may be.  He says I will still have functioning overies, so no early menopause.  So, all that to say, Will little or NO bleeding be a bad thing?  Thanks for any opinion.   Carla

It will be a good thing--because after your uterine lining is ablated, it won't thicken. If it doesn't thicken, you don't need to shed it.
