ok so here is an answer to your question, If you are not sure about something call your doctor.  People on this sight are concerned, that is all.  Connie didn't mean anything malicious about questioning the center of excellence.  Nobody on this sight is here to upset anyone, sometimes the typed word comes across differently than it sounds in our heads.  So, that being said, again, if you are not sure call the nutritionist or your surgeon.  My meal plan is polar oposite from yours, does that make mine better, not at all, just makes it different.  do what your clinic says to do, follow YOUR eating plan. I just find it odd, some one freshly banded no matter what the DR. Says would want to even START to eat fast food of any kind. I know the band is a tool and with losing 11 pds in 1 week I plan to stay far away from what got me here in the first place No HATING just seems like an odd choice! No RSVP required. Just my thoughts...

I guess you missed NO RSVP required. Not intrested in getting in some type of ******g match. The headline caught my eye quickly as I found it shocking.

Tammy, too late, let the match begin!  Just kidding, always good to bring light to an obviously hypersensitive subject.  Hey you are doing great, just 6 days out from surgery and you are down 11 pounds, that is awesome.  keep up the good work! Kristen

I'm glad you feel okay, now that it is a day later.  The reason behind the "old school" metality is for this reason, and I completely understand that every bariatric office is different.  We were taught that the weeks following surgery, the stomach had to heal from the trauma.  The reason for the liquids to full liquids to mushies and soft foods over the span of 6 weeks was so that your stomach had to work very little, no grinding, spasms, really having to work to digest so that the suctures and healing in place went un interupted, while I believe you that your nut said it was okay, what is alarming to everyone that has gone before you is this, the actual healing process hasn't changed.  You are free to eat what you want, but I would suggest you get the whole picture, you don't want problems later on.  It is all actually very sound good advice.  I wish you all the success in your band journey.

Deb,    HI, just sitting here reading posts and noticed you were a few years out and since I am waiting for my lap band surgery date I started reading your blogs. Can you tell me what happened to your band? If you don't want to I will understand, I am just trying to get as much info as I can, Thanks Tracey

Hi tracey.  I was curious too so i checked Deb's blogs and it's the last one on the page.  Sounds like it was a very difficult band journey.  2 band slips, not fun.  Deb if you see this i wish you the best with the VSG.  they say it's the one to get if you liked the band but the band didn't like you.  Hang in there and tracey, good luck with whatever decision you make.  Please don't let the emotional discussion of food sway you away from the band.  Obviously some doctors are very different from others when it comes to what is allowed and what is not.  As you have probably read, not two are the exact same.   Kristen

Thanks Kristen, that was sweet, I'm not sure what I'll be getting as the doctor said it is difficult to get the insurance co to pay for it, and not one has yet, her sleeves have been self pay, so I am applying for the sleeve, but I am educating myself on the bypass, as word has it, it isn't a severe as it once was, so I'm a bit all over the place right now.... that and dieting....LOL  that's alway fun
