Just hang in there, it will be resolved one way or another.  You will find the perfect revision and the insurance will pay for it, I just have this feeling!  Blessings for a wonderful week! kristen

what happened to my band... it's split in half in my doc's office....LOL   I had a lot of esophageal issues after banding, and lost 117#, that part was great, but within the first year I started having severe reflux, even with only .5cc in there, aspirating at night, lots of tests... finally had a completely empty band, then it slipped, had it repositioned, and it slipped again 4 days later while sipping some water.  The motility in my esophagus declined and during a scope the doctor saw undigested food from 15 hrs prior, so some issues that were pretty bad.  It had to go.  I am in the process of a revision, but still unsure of what a want to live with.  Thanks for asking, pm me anytime and I wish you well, good luck.

Leanne, I have been lurking here, and taking notes!  Do you know what band Dr. Gupta uses? It is kind of weird that so many of lap band patients have to be so strict to start off. You can bet I will be giving Dr. Gupta all these questions when I talk to her. I didn't know that there were that many people on this forum until I seen all the people that have looked at this post. Still no date, if I don't get one by thursday I will email Amy and ask her how long it usaully takes to get a date. Do you remember how long it was for you between approval and surgery date?  Like I told you before, I am learning from you how it is going to be for me, even tho everyone is different, we have the same doctor, same hospital, and hopefully I can do as well as you are. I also am learning what to post about and not, I guess this one went really wild!   Have a good rest of your day, Tracey

Again- the issue here is when you have a question honestly call your nutritionist. Second of all, not all of us have the same band, there are two on the market now, so before one is quoted it would be best to clarify the type of band. Lastly, I think its ridiculous that grown women come on this site and start jumping down other peoples throats for what their doctor is telling them to eat.  My doctor put me on a very similar diet, if you would like to question her, you can call her office, OR you can watch her special on the Discovery Health this month.  I'm sure Discovery Health would contract with an individual "breaking Allergens rules" and follow her patients success "rebelling" from the system.

I am 7 weeks out and do not call my nutritionist. I have been reading the Forums since I had mine done, this is a awesome site and very educational to us who wants to suceed. I read where there are 2 bands out now. The process is still the same-...If someone wants advise on eating from Arby's be prepared to take a little advise it may not be the advise you were hoping for. Each and every member are here for each other...No-one is here trying to make a ******g contest out of the reviews. Everyone has opinions...Live with it. yes we are grown women who have been banded, some of us are more emotional then others.

Lastly, I think its ridiculous that grown women come on this site and start jumping down other peoples throats for what their doctor is telling them to eat. I think it's ridiculous that a GROWN woman would come on to a board and ask questions that are going to get VETERAN responses and then act like a teenager with a "knows every damn thing" attitude. Feel free to do what you will--I don't recommend not going against your doc's advice. She clearly noted that her doc did not say roast beef was okay first of all and second we merely pointed out that this is not standard procedure.   There is a lot of money to be made in bariatric surgery.  I sincerely hope that docs are not turning into a drive-thru type atmosphere.  Talk to some of the people on this board or on the revision board that have lost their bands--it's sometimes life threatening and painful.   We were merely providing our insight to the question she asked.  This is an open forum after all.   As I stated previously with my post directly from Allergan and now also from Realize--thi is not the RECOMMENDED recovery plan from them--the band manufacturer.

Remember that line from the movie "A few good men"?  Jack Nicholson should have said, "Obese people cant handle the truth". Sheesh!
