Prenatal Vitamins have disappeared!
I don't recommend K. Just pointing out it's malabsorbed, so anyone who is on any blood thinners needs to go to their doc to figuer out how to get enough K to help the bones without messing with the blood thing.
Way, way out of my league.
K1 and K2 are separate things, so maybe an endo can advise how to get either or both on board without messing with the coumadin thing. Both carry the warfarin warning, tho.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
Hi all, I guess I'll put my 2-cents in here, too - New to medicare - I called them AND my AARP RX drug plan and was told they don't cover my prenatals. [Which didn't surprise me as I've always paid for them myself--but was cheaper to buy a whole year's rather than a co-pay per month.] So after calling Walgreen's I turned my Dr's. Rx into them for the usual 400 Qty (4 bottles of 100-and was quoted a cool $55.58) and the next day I found out from Ethex - who makes the NatalCare PIC Forte that I ALSO have been taking for 5 years (& my blood work is great)... says this: "A nationwide recall, both wholesale & retail to remove all products in stock, plus stop manufacturing them because the products may have been manufactured under conditions that did not sufficiently comply with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP). And there's a whole gulp-full of all the products so that's the scoop. It may not even be healthy to take them---if you still have some. I, too, called Dr. Crookes Office & spoke with "Mary"...and asked so what prenatal are THEY recommending to their DS patients? And she said they are not recommending any particular, just an OTC prenatal! Yikes - so I see there's some suggestions and it's just a matter of researching & comparing LABELS & INGREDIENTS! I am not anemic and don't want to take more iron than I have been so guess we all have to research our choices according to OUR labs. Good luck, everyone! Sharon aka harvener
Hey Laurie,
I take pre-natals. I have no idea the brand; it is just generic, and it seems to change every month when I go to pick up the Rx. The surgeon wanted me on a certain kind, and the only thing they could tell me as to why was because it had a stool softner. Didn't seem worth the price. Our local grocery chain provides pre-natals for free (Meijer, in case anyone is interested), so that is what I go with. I don't know if I really need them, but what is another pill?? Plus, pre-op, I liked them for hair, skin, and nails, so that is why I guess I still take them. I do take a multi, also. I have seen so many OTC pre-natals now, which I didn't see even a couple years ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if the whole Rx thing is fading away. If they weren't free, I wouldn't take it, and would substitute in a hair, skin, and nails.

~ I am the proud wife of a Guatemalan, but most people call me Kimberley
Highest Known Weight = 370# / 59.7 bmi @ 5'6"
Current Weight = 168# / 26.4 bmi : fluctuates 5# either way @ 5'7" / more than 90% EWL
Normal BMI (24.9) = 159#: would have to compromise my muscle mass to get here without plastics, so this is not a goal.
I my DS. Don't go into WLS without knowing ALL of your options: DSFacts.com
