Scabbed over, can I go swimming yet?

Anyway, I was allowed to go to a friend's house for an overnighter, but we went swimming without permission. It wasn't the water more than the resistance that was my enemy. I didn't even realize how much you use your stomach in the water just being still fully emerced. The pressure is astounding on a healing internal wound. I set myself back some for sure, bc the next day I could hardly move like I had just had surgery.
This is something you need to seriously call your surgeon and ask him about, to see if you have clearance and are medcially safe for you personally to go swimming according to your health, recovery and medical condition.
Only your DS surgeon or your medical physician can tell YOU if it is ok for YOU to go into a chlorinated pool or seawater ocean/ beach to swim in it and paddle away. It is based on factors to your personal recovery, what you have been or are going through. So call your surgeon or physican regarding this and make sure you are medically clear to do so.
