Dear Friends,

Thank you so very much for sending up prayers, karma and ju ju for myself and my family.  Kathy, you know how much I love you and how could I ever kick your butt for wanting to network out for posititve thoughts.  They worked and your post was wonderful.  I remember many of you so very well.

I'm very weak after just coming home yesterday but believe me I'm so greatful that I made it home.  It frightens the bejeebers out of me thinking that I was so close to death.  I'm glad that I don't have memory of too many of the events.  Currently I'm needing lidocaine pain patches for my chest.  They're numbing patched because they had to electric shock me back to life 3 times and it's pretty painful.

I'd like to become more active on the board again because we are alll such a unique qroup of individuals who all really need each other.

All of these events occured because I had a revision last spring 2008.  I was going to have 3 hernias repaired and because I'd gained 45 pounds my surgeon suggested he return my stomach to a small size and that's when it all went south.  Please, DS'ers - do plenty of research before resorting to a revision .  I was neglectiful of researching and it's been a very sickly year.

I am so happy to hear you are home and have enough strength to post.  We were all worried about you.  Take care and hope everything gets better for you.  Get plenty of rest and prayers are sent your way for a speedy recovery.

EWWW!   You didn't tell me about the chest thing.  OUCH!   I never would have thought of that. 

Yeah for you coming on here.  I know there are plenty of people considering revisions and it is important that we all participate and know all the possibilities, both good and bad.

Yay Maureen, so glad to see you. Your avatar is gorgeous. You had a revision just to make your sleeve smaller, or what? I finally had my revision from RnY to the DS 7 weeks ago and couldn't be happier. A lot of my decision was based on what y'all told me early on about the DS and to find a very competent, experienced surgeon. I used Dr. K. I would love to see you back on this board. You were surely missed.

Hey Karen,

Actually I was a DS to a DS revision.  Saturday willl be my 4 year DS anniversary.  That part I have no regrets - just the revision.

Maureen, I never knew of you before I saw Kathy's post asking for prayer for you but I'm so glad I did! You have helped me even when you didn't know you were alive! I had my surgery a month ago and have had complications ever since but your situation helped keep me in perspective and realize that I need to learn to be more thankful because it COULD be worse! I am so glad to see you home and posting! I am looking forward to getting to know you! Rest assured that my continued prayers are with you! God bless you!
