3 month labs - ick!!!
I just got my 3 month labs back... I didnt have perfect labs as a preop and I take my vites daily but some of these numbers are really concerning me like the creatinine, elevated liver enzymes, triglycerides etc. My glucose and a1c improved tremendously. I didnt get ferritin done but I will ask for it next time since as a preop it was good but now my iron seems low. I havent been taking iron daily but I will start. I know I want to increase my D and A, my PTH is normal high... well, here is a scan so please give me suggestions. I am worried about my kidneys and liver. Thanks!

I agree with EN and Red,
As medical, we don't really worry with creatinine till hits 1.4 .... the range you have usually means need more hydration..!! Drink drink drink !!!
Some of us have to drink more fluids than others, since we eat more protein, red meats and processed meats and other foods.
also,
Same with triglycerides... shows high process meats, and reds(. maybe do more fish???
which we are suppose to but still none seem really elevated...
alt and ast are going to be elevated, you are making it work harder,,, again keep more fluid going through kidneys and liver.
since you are up higher end of pth, probably do need to add more vit d so it will go down to 20's or so..
I am jealous of your zinc and folate...LOL mine were low normal, better to be mid to high for me,
Vitamin levels, EN and Red and rest of vets are better... than me, I am still newish on that part
Like the other has said,,, vary mild elevated, especially for a DS'R.....

Daily I take
2 multi (still shopping around for a good multi)
B 50 Complex
5000 mg B12
7500 mg Biotin
2000 mg Vit. C
25 mg Zinc
1800 - 2000 mg/day Cal citrate
140 mg Mag Citrate
50,000 IU Vit A
50,000 - 100,000 IU vit D
400 IU Vit E
100 mcg K1 (I ordered the wrong one from vitalady but I ordered the correct one 1000 mcg with my last order and it should be arriving on Sat)
Protein I still struggle with, last few days have been rough but on the whole I am getting around 90g/day some days more some days a bit less. I usually have at least 1 bar of some sort a day and I have found some shakes tolerable so I have been increasing those. Out of protein powder so far so waiting on my vitalady order which should arrive on Sat as well. I drink 60-80 oz fluids daily, I don't struggle with fluids at all and I should probably increase that.

Okay....Basically I think you are pretty much okay for this early out. PUSH fluids and protein and maybe double up on B12 or change the time or type of dose. Others will have more input here, but basically I don't see anything truly scary just now if you are slugging down supplements and are here showing your commitment to DS rules. (Yes, being here posting helps us be more compliant.)
**smoochies** As long as you understand that we are NOT doctors (even though we know lots more than docs about our particular narrow area of expertise), all is well. It's hard to grapple with the idea that our docs are basically clueless about our special cir****tances. GOOD family docs understand that they are limited and are educable. I am very happy to have such a doc, but I know he's a rarity.
Let me just attach myself here to the "we are not medical persons" concept and add my random thoughts. Backed up by life, not studies I can hang he for ya.
Lemme just suggest a side order of Milk Thistle as an appetizer for your liver enzymes.
I find some people enjoy B5 (Pantothenic acid) in larger than normal doses for uric acid (gout) or smooth gut spasms. Handy stuff. Cheap, too.
Creatine, and like that. Moo water, less stuff that is not precisely water. if your kidneys have to sort thru it to find the water, it's no****er. Mind you, some will say anything wet is water, but your kidneys are not entirely in agreement with that. Painless to do this, and cheap. Did I mention cheap?
As far as your D, iron, this is why we tweak for life. You customize your exact plan to you. Your A and zinc are good, so you have fewer things to tweak.
Folate makes me jumpy but I'm the only one, right?
