My kidney and liver stuff was all whacked out at 3 months and I freaked too. I was told it is totally normal for the first few months.

Sure enough, by 6 months it had mostly resolved and by 9 months the numbers were awesome.

How high were your triglycerides pre-op?

They didnt do a cholesterol test as one of my preop labs. The last test I have that shows my triglycerides showed my cholesterol at 149 and my triglycerides at 50 but that was about a year ago.

I have run across information here and there about some things that aid absorption and some things that inhibit absorption from nutritional articles.  Most of those I also hear from pretty much everyone else on the board, but a couple I really don't here about.  This is a word file I have compiled for my own purposes in which I noted this info.

One thing I almost never about is to use Milk Thistle to aid liver support.  During the process of losing weight, it puts a strain on our liver - that's a normal process for us & our levels are expected to be higher, but that's not to say that it wouldn't hurt to take milk thistle to help it out some.  It's pretty cheap.

Here's my list with info noted by each vitamin & how I take it throughout the day.

Per Serving Units:

A 25,000IU (take with calcium)

Biotin 5,000mcg

B12 sublingual 500mcg

Super B-Complex

Coenzymated B6, 100mg.  (FYI: don’t take rt after an anti-depressant, blocks B6)

C 500mg

Calcium Citrate 630mg (take with D3 & magnesium to increase Ca absorption)

Copper 3mg (2mg for non-DS people, take prior to taking Zinc for the day)

D-3 50,000IU

E 400IU

Iron, ferrous fumarate 318mg (needs C & Copper for iron absorption)

K1 1,000mcg  Don’t take w/A or E (blocks K), helps prevent bone loss

K2 50mcg

Magnesium (elemental) 100mg

Multi-vitamin/Mineral

Probiotic 50 billion organisms

Zinc 50mg – don’t take with calcium or iron (blocks absorption), take copper
before zinc bc copper blocks zinc absorption

Milk Thistle

Iron, C, & copper should be taken together, alone for at least two hours with

fruit, vegetables, or meat, but not dairy, caffeine, eggs or whole grains or any other medications, vitamins or minerals

If I were you, I'd up the b complex (and check to see that it has B1 in it) and the D and calcium.  I might add in mag citrate and K2 to help with calcium absorption to bring your PTH down.

I see no results for vitamin K or E.  Also no selenium or copper.

Overall, though, I think you look pretty good.

Liver function is going to be elevated, it is working overtime.  No worries.  Are you on Urso?  If not, it can help with that.

Kidney function- increase your fluids.

Triglycerides- these take a bit longer to come down that your total cholesterol.  No worries here either.  It will happen.

As for the rest- up your B1, B12, A, D, iron and protein and you should see the rest slide in nicely at your 6 month check.
