I thought the VSG was "half" of the DS.  The stomach part the same, but no "switching" or malabsorption.

Is that not correct?

Yes Dsers have a sleeve. But when they have just the sleeve as a Stand alone they (surgeons) tend to make the sleeve "tighter" or smaller.

Yes. It is. Which is why it is silly and stupid for them to get their knickers up in a twist about us.

The problem seems to lie in that we don't think that your stomach should be made as small as the VSGers are getting them made. They are being made ultra-tiny in order to get results by surgeons. And it can be problemmatic for some. Some are also under the delusion that their stomachs don't stretch at all - but of course us DSers stretch so very, very much because we eat so much crap because we're all gluttons over here.

Plus they're always spouting off that "well, if it doesn't work, I'll just get the second part of the DS" and it just isn't that easy. So, it's also the delusion that they spread.

It really makes no sense when you think about it.

My theory is though if they are eating their 1-2 oz sleeve with sugar free (read high carbs( and sticking to the 40-60 g protein they are being told, they obvisiously not getting all the vites they need. So they are going to be deficient as well. Many just said they were bad about lab following up and handfuls of vites. I would think the same thing will happen to them as to dsers that don't supplement.,

Yes and no. Yes in that DSers have a VSG. No in that the "switch" totally changes EVERYTHING.

Your surgeon is horrible BTW. You should run screaming from him if he hasn't cut you up yet.

I posted rates on the wrong procedure....................Nevermind.  I still do not understand why they are so upset.  Is it because they only got 1/2 of what they needed?
