Psst...Buford, that description is the VBG. Very different surgery from the VSG (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy).

Yea, I picked up on that after the fact.  I was distracted by my wife ranting about a co-worker (gonna blame my mess up on her).  Still, what is their problem?

VBG is different from a VSG.
Won against big bad (SoCal) Kaiser for a Duodenal Switch  Haven't heard of DS? Kaiser wants it that way. Come on over & read the truth
Hit goal (Normal BMI) on 2-10-11!    I LOVE my DS!!
My approval process timeline:
02/12/09 - Dr. refused to refer me for WLS
03/03/09 - Vented/whined about it on another board, planned to just wait until next year & switch plans
Let's see what happens!  **updates in blog**

Oopsie :-).

Thing is, the results, such as they are for this NEW procedure, are showing that long term (aka FIVE YEAR ROFLMAO) results are basically the same as with any other restriction only procedure.....50% EWL maintained. Let's see, for Mittens, who thinks she still belongs on the DS board, that would mean staying 60 pounds overweight and, according to her, dancing in the aisles and bouncing on her spike heels.

Pardon me if I'm skeptical.

Let's don't be silly now. We all know the VSG has the same results as the RNY with less potential for complications. Well, it does for now...

If the VSG gives the same results as RNY, then they're gonna be vitamin deficient. I know I was.

Have I mentioned that it's STUPID to get all of your stomach removed except for a tiny strand of tissue the size of a Bic pen refill? Please, feel free to quote me as saying that.

Plus feel free to quote the **** stirring "newbie".

To top it off two people stated that they could get the second half if sleeve didn't work. So they are putted ds as a not superior surgery but when this once doesn't work out, I'm going to go to the ds.

Makes no sense.

it really doesn't. people who say that kind of stuff obviously have no idea how serious a risk surgery is. I've had a rough enough time post-op, I couldn't imagine healing from all of this and then going in for another surgery to alter my guts again.

Wait a minute. If getting your stomach rebuilt to be congruent with a Bic pen refill is the be all and end all of WLS, WHY ON EARTH TALK ABOUT ANOTHER PROCEDURE?

Oh, Wait, We're talking to/about psychotics,. Nebbermind.
