Stalled. Dammit.

The ******g scale hasn't moved Has. Not. Moved. in 4 solid weeks. Seriously - I've been at 275 for 4 weeks. The only movement has been in ounces - up 2, down 3 up, down, up, down, lather, rinse, repeat. I've only been weighing once a week to keep from going mad.

I've been following ALL the DS rules - guzzling 80-100 oz liquid/day (mostly water), hitting 90 gms protein every day, taking all my freaking supplements. I've tried fried chicken - it just gave me gas. I don't think I can do a burger - hamburgers and I don't gee and haw well yet.

I'm losing inches, or I was. My clothes that were snug 4 weeks ago are flapping like clown clothes. I know this is temporary, or at least I keep telling myself it is.

I feel like a total DS fail. AUGH!!!!

Up your protein and calories :)  Has worked for me, every time.  As soon as I notice I'm not losing a pound a day (does that sound insane to anyone else?) I up my protein and calories and sure enough, it rights things.  I know how frustrating a stall is, I just came off a 3 week one.  ICK!  You aren't a failure, your body is just reloading...

OMG I'll have to rub it in my hair! LOL I feel like Petunia Pig as it is, nomming all the time just to get in the protein I do. I'm sure I can find an empty corner to wodge more steak in if I try REAL hard. haha Thanks hon. I know it will happen, just feeling discouraged today.

Charlee, i am a testament that the weight will come off eventually, and the fact that you are losing inches is a very good sign. I was in the 160's FOREVER, it seemed, but the inches were going down as smaller and smaller clothes fit me. The last few weeks I finally hit the 150's, something i knew would happen since size 10 is now fitting me in some things. I can wear a size 10 bathing suit, never thought it would fit me this season, but it does, flappy thighs and all, but heck i am 59, so it is not bothering me as much as I thought it would.  My face is wrinkly and my thighs match, that's all.  Keep preserving, it will work!

LOL Karen, thanks! I don't care if my wrinkles have wrinkles, I just want the frigging scale to MOVE. Patience is not happening today.

Honey, you are  not stalled. You are losing inches. You have the proof of this in your clothes, yes?

Please try to divorce yourself from the scale. The flapping clothes are SO much more satisfying than those damned numbers, anyhow.

Stepping back from the scale now.   Really, I'll leave it alone. It's just ******g me off and making me feel bad. Check the clothes, right. I can do this.

I went shopping Saturday and found some CUTE clothes! Some things were quite snug but they'll be fine by the time it's cool enough to wear them. Follow the clothes, not the numbers.

Thank you EN!

Heck, they might be TOO BIG by the time it's cool enough to wear them! :-)

Just remember, the scale measures weight loss, not fat loss.  Your bones, muscles and fluids all have weight, and fluid weight can vary quite a bit.  Muscle can also increase in weight if you're exercising, but it gives you tone and makes you look great.  Even your bones can increase in weight if you do strength-building exercises--the bones can become up to 30% denser, and that means they weigh more.

So, you may be just experiencing normal fluid weight shifts and maybe gaining some "good" weight to counteract the fat loss.  Your overall weight will begin to drop again, don't worry.

I think the only thing dense here is my brain. Thanks Paul :-)  I probably will worry, but not as often or as frantically.
