Update - No Baron Munchausen here, believe me...
Disclaimer:
Put your Bull**** cards away!
I am not the Baron himself or any distant relative thereof. For those of you *****ad my post last week, I followed through with my plans. If someone could post the link...I would appreciate it for I still have some Versed and Fentanyl running through my veins.
Last update, I mentioned an EGD, and CT Angiogram of a retroperitoneal (to right kidney) "fluid collection" that was discovered during an US of the RUQ due to pain. Well, the EGD was negative (go figure) but the PPI has helped. Anyway, the CTA revealed that the fluid collection was as large as my kidney and was pushing my kidney to the frontal region of my abdomen, so I packed up all my discs to go see the liver/kidney transplant surgeon 2 hours away. Since there was air in the pocket, he agreed it was an abcess and not just a bunch of clots and that my current ABX regimen of Flagyl and Cipro were appropriate and to "watch it." Then he pulled in his Interventional Radiologist and they came to the conclusion that it would be no biggie to slip a needle in and take a sample/drain it. Due to insurance issues, we arranged for it to be done today at my home hospital and it was done today at 3PM. Split pea soup and VERY smelly - NO blood. So now I am so glad it was drained and hopefully the micro reports will show that the bugs are susceptible to my current course of treatment. Thanks for all your comments and concerns. I don't want people to think I am FOS (trust me...there is NOTHING in there....LOL. But I HAVE had quite a run.

I'm so glad the endo was ok, and that you got the abscess treated aggressively. Antibiotics are all very nice, but pus needs to come out (unless it's just a tiny amount, and if this thing was the size of your kidney, it wasn't tiny).
I hope draining the abscess will have you feeling better soon.
