Anyone awake? Been up all night with gas pains. Now that I WANT to sleep I can't get it, heh.

I feel your pain!  I have had the WORST diarrhea since Saturday.  I'm going up to 15 times a night.  Tonight at the doctor's urging I took a preventive dose of Imodium.  Now I have bad gas.

Anyway, I know what you are saying about the food commercials.  I'm dying for something I can bite into!  What are you eating/drinking at this stage?

I had those wrenching shoulder pains too - in fact, that was my ONLY discomfort after the DS surgery.  Nurses kept telling me it would take care of itself but that was a CROCK.  After three nights of sleeping less than two hours, I announced everyone was staying up all night on my floor at the hospital, if I did not get some relief.  Surgeon came in a prescribed drugs and YES I walked (which of course set off massive fireworks in the bathroom).

It took about a week and three different pain killers for the gas pains in my shoulder to finally subside.  It passes once that gas finds it way down and out.  Thank you jesus!  Hang in there.  You have nothing but good things to look forward to.

PS:  Dittos regarding the cheeseburgers.  They looked delicious to me after surgery and I CRAVED just one nibble. After six weeks, I had one bite and it tasted like CARDBOARD.  Taste buds were whacked out for almost six months.  A hamburger still has never tasted the same to me as it did pre-surgery.

Good luck.
