Honesty about How I am 3 Months Out.
Losing the weight is a good thing, but not at the expense of the rest of your health. You MUST take vitamins and it is not negotiable. Please be sure to order them asap and stick with it. I don't want to read about you in the hospital over something that could have been prevented. It might be helpful if you posted exactly what you are taking so we can help you. I say this not to be mean and hateful, but when DS'ers don't take their supplements it is that very reason DS surgeons stop performing the DS. So please be a responsible DS'er.
Please don't feel like an idiot. It takes a lot of courage to own up and you did just that. Hell, I felt like I sabatoged my DS when I ate my first cookie. But this DS...it is different this time and it's our best chance to have a long, healthy life... but you must be compliant.
So how about posting what "other vites" you are taking? Maybe we can all figure this out and help you.

Well, you say you're taking other vites, so you're not completely vitamin deficient. If your labs only showed a Vitamin D problem, you're in the same boat with most of the US.
I think your weight loss is stellar.
I was tired all the time, still am. Could be anemia, could be your body recovering from surgery while taking care of kids! I hate protein shakes, so I'm with you on that one. I make sure to get in protein, but rarely is it from a shake.
Keep sipping, it'll help. The nausea should subside completely as your hormones regulate.

I congratulate you on your weight loss and commend you on your honest post. Part of being successful post-DS is being honest with yourself and others. How about some snacks to nibble on when you can't do a full meal such as nuts, yogurts, cheeses, beef jerky, summer sausage, etc. Those are pretty handy to have around.
I like to think of my metabolism as being much like a campfire. If I throw a log on in the morning and don't tend to it again until evening the fire's burned out and the log just sits there and smolders at best. If I add logs regularly they are consumed and burned completely. The more frequently we feed our metabolism the more efficiently it works and we burn more calories and lose more weight.
You should never cower from making a post such as this. I guarantee you're not alone and others will benefit from the advice you're given here. The important issue is you're addressing it before it becomes a serious medical threat. I'd rather see you get a little slap on the wrist from some posters and get back on track now ("lesson learned") than swing a critter for you down the road!

"Taking supplements is just non-negotiable. It's a matter of life and death. A slow, horrible, nasty death..but death none the less. I am a stay at home Mom as well, and on a strict budget, but this was part of what I knew I had to do before getting the DS, and my husband knew as well. I will not ask him permission to keep myself alive and healthy. "

Body by God; alterations by Buchwald. I love Jesus. I so so so appreciate my DS.
Protein deficiency can make you tired. I know we all talk about the 90-100g minimum, but you may well be one of those whose body needs substantially more than that. I certainly am--I seem to need about 150 at least.
Have you tried egg protein shakes? They have a much different taste than the whey protein. Healthy-n-Fit makes a strawberry one. I haven't tried it but their chocolate and vanilla are both pretty decent. I doctor them a bit, as we all do with protein shakes. Otherwise, you may have to treat the shakes as medicine. Once your protein starts to tank, it brings all your vite levels down. You don't want to go there.
Are you still on an acid reducer? That might help the nausea. Also, what about total ounces of water--where do you think you are? Even if you're getting 64 oz, that may not be enough during rapid weight loss. You need a lot of water to wash out all the fat that is metabolizing right now. I know when I was losing rapidly I was tired all the time, and looking back I think it was a combo of insufficien****er and protein.
I'm glad you're willing to come here for advice and to try to fix this before it becomes a dire situation.

I wanted to add something:
http://www.bariatricadvantage.com/page/oac
Bariatric Advantage offers free vites. Print off the page, have ur surgeon's practice fill it out for you, and send it back.
The stuff they give for free is not enough for what a DSer needs, but it is better than NOTHING
