Ballpark were my favorite but I don't eat hot dogs any more. I just eat Polska sausage. She might want to offer a breadless hotdog on her cart, like a sausage on a stick or something?

There are a lot of people who eat low carb these days!

Tell her GOOD LUCK!!!

I loooove me some hotdogs. But I've never heard of some of the brands mentioned. Must be a regional product. My favorite is Oscar Meyer cheesy dogs, followed by regular oscar meyer (not bunlength, beef, etc...just the regular ones). Ballpark is pretty good too and I think that's what they mostly sell at concessions stands and functions around here.

Good luck to your daughter. My husband and I were talking last summer about how I would like to open a few hotdog carts. We don't have those around here so it could be a goldmine or it could be a lump of coal...lol I do think I would enjoy it though.

Hebrew National 100% Beef is the best!  We're talking the big ones, not regular sized hot dogs.  They are similar in size to bratwurst.

Someone at Costco told me these are the ones they serve...

Recently, in a Parade Magazine interview, singer/actor Neil Diamond commented that every Sunday he and his 95-year-old mother enjoy Costco hot dogs together.

It made me smile, as my kids think they're the best too!

Hebrew national is good but my favorite are boars head in natural casing. The natural casing gives it the snap.
If you're getting a truck as opposed to cart try to offer tons of toppings that u can charge extra for

Cows don't have beaks, but is there any reason to think that Hebrew natl doesn't have feet lips and ass? I know they answer to a "higher authority", but I also believe that's the whole point of hot dogs.

Of the easily/nationally available brands, Hebrew National beef hot dogs. If you would like a regionally available one (but that can be shipped nationwide far as I know), Restvedt & Son Meat Market in Ennis, MT has a magificent supply of hot dogs and similar sausages. Can't find a website but found a phone number on Google 406-682-7306.

Another regional option is www.meatmt.com . They would LOVE the chance to show you their made to order yummy all beef, grass fed, hormone free goodies. I haven't had their hot dogs yet, but their summer sausage, jerky and smoked sausage are all magnificent, family owned business and recipes. Either one of these regional options would make a great "gourmet" or other niche market type option, and they are both great family owned businesses whom I know personally.

Offer Polska Kilbasa and/or Bratwurst as well as regular hot dogs.  I also agree with having a niche to attract clients.  Maybe a mango salsa to top them off for those who want it or something like that.

I used to love hot dogs, but there's something in the processed wieners that hasn't sat well with me since my surgery.  Now the mere thought of a hot dog makes me, well, nauseous. . .  But I can eat bratwurst/kilbasa all day long!
