I take 2, snapped in half, in 2 separate doses.

To be perfectly honest, I don't separate them from anything else and my #s still improved. YMMV.
There are simply not enough hours in the day to separate all the pills that have the potential benefit of being taken alone in divided doses.

If your iron status is good, I'd probably just start with one.
