Do you get sick as often as before you were switched?

Hi all,

I'm curious, do you think you get sick less often now (colds, flu, etc?).

Of course, I've had bad days with my stomach since my surgery nearly 20 months ago (mostly as a result of my eating choices).  But, I have not gotten a single cold or been sick in any other way.  I think my immunity has improved.

Thoughts?

Oh good heavens NO!! I only need the fingers of one hand to count the colds and such I've had since I recovered from surgery.

I used to get colds, etc all the time but noticed a huge difference about a year and a half ago when I started supplementing with D3. Perhaps coincidental, who knows. I've only had one cold since my revision 4 months ago. Hopefully that'll be it for this year.

I, too, have fewer colds, sinus infections, flu-like symptoms, whatever, since being switched.
In fact, the first two winters after my surgery, I didn't have anything along those lines.
Not sure why, but happy, nonetheless.
Interesting.

Pre-op, I was pretty much 'sick' with something all the damned time. I'd get a cold early every fall, keep it until spring, when it would turn into bronchitis. My sinuses just killed me year-round.

Since my DS over seven years ago, I've had *maybe* 5 colds, ZERO bronchitis, and fewer sinus infections. (Don't tell anyone, but I don't even get those nasty rashes under my panni like I did pre-op.)

Much, MUCH less than before.  I hardly ever get colds, flu, respiratory stuff anymore.

Definitely fewer colds and migraines since surgery. I think fewer colds due to the vitamin D and other vitamins being at optimal levels, and fewer migraines because I'm more hydrated.

Me too!! I am about 7.5 months out and I haven't had a cold or the flu or really anything since before surgery.  Maybe all the vitamin supplementaion helps our immune system??

Its almost like I will start to get a cold, maybe a slight runny nose or the start of a sore throat... and then it just goes away... and never really take full course.

Kinda sweet!

I used to get sick at LEAST four times a year requiring one or two doc visits each time, antibiotics, steroids, breathing treatments.

Since surgery I have had one cold that did not require a doc visit.

I quit smoking on June 3, 2009.  Had my DS on Sept 30, 2009.  I take Vita Lady's supplement/vitamin plan.

I believe all 3 are responsible for my vastly improved health.

It has to be the vitamins.

I had a cold or something almost constantly pre-surgery. It sucked.

I was 3 years out January 29, and have only had one cold, and it was very minor. Everyone else had it, and were getting really sick, and even secondary pneumonia. Even when someone gets sick in my own home, I somehow get by without catching it.
