Laura, sounds like you haven't found a surgeon you like yet.  Maybe you should talk to a few more.  Tell them you just want to start slowly.  Pick the body part that bugs you the worst.  It's good to follow you gut feelings, but on the other hand don't let fear consume you.  Best of luck, Jenny

I would be leery to do too much as well. Go with what you are comfortable with.

I staged my procedures. My surgeon prefers to do it that way and it worked out well for me. I started with my tummy tuck and breast lift/augmentation. 4 months later I had my arms and inner thighs done. That 4 months was a stretch. I was really weak after those 2 procedures but I was also battling anemia. The last procedure was my face work. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't change anything. We all have our own tolerances for pain and it's best to go with your gut instincts.

I have only had a couple of different consults for PS.  My only suggestion would be to see someone who is perhaps  a little more conservative & express your reservations about doing too much too soon with whomever you see.  The first consult I had was with Dr. Jamal Bullocks who oversees the residency program at Baylor School of Medicine in Houston.  He struck me as being somewhat conservative.  The second consult I had, the head Dr. who oversaw that program's residents stated that he was familiar with Bullocks, that they had done work together at some point (I don't remember what now), but that he felt that he took a more conservative approach.  Since my scar is horizontal vs vertical, there's blood flow issues with me.  Bullocks arguably suggested a more conservative approach to the type & various procedures that I wanted in terms of the type that I should get for safety & the possibility of pairing multiple procedures together & if so, which ones.  Here's a link to his profile.

Do what you are comfortable with.  You are the one who has to live with the recovery.
