Another Converted to Kayla's YUMMY Protein Cake

If you like chocolate, you really do need to try this recipe!  It's very good for a first attempt & I know exactly how I need to change it a bit for my tastes.

I was hungry when I made this.  It actually filled me up pretty well.  It's like a GUILT-FREE, HEALTHY FOR YOUR BODY chocolate cake that you can indeed have for a meal.  High protein, low carb.  Praise Jesus.

I used the chocolate whey powder my local Sam's club carried, SF Davinci Syrup, dark chocolate, canola oil (will try coconut oil next time) for a total of 24gms protein, 5 total carbs, 3 of which are fiber, no sugar, no sugar alcohols.

I know, right?  I'm addicted to it.  Can you give your measurements?  I'd like to try it with the Davinic syrup.  Which flavor syrup do you use?

I've been using choc. whey powder, baking powder, dark cocoa, veg. oil, vanilla extract, splenda and water.

I actually just poured the syrup, but would guestimate that I used about 2 T of syrup & 1/4 water.  I nuked it a little too long, though at 40 sec.  I did that b/c I have the most basic, cheap microwave possible :)

Tried this tonight.  I am using up a 5lb bag of Chocolate EAS protein powder someone gave me that I don't like for shakes, and it works PERFECTLY in this!  I followed Kayla's recipe, and when it was done, was too dry for my taste.  SO, i just dumped a little half&half over it, it soaked it up like a sponge in like 2 seconds, and now it's like a chocolate tres leches cake, OMG!  My kid won't stop bugging me for more.....  YUM!

I was thinking whipped cream would be good with this, put on warm out of the microwave so that it can melt into it some, but I bet the half&half penetrates even better.

I'm on my second cake tonight

OK, what the hell am i doing wrong- for me when i make it , it tastes like ass. I put it in for 30 sec but it was still liquid on the bottom, so i put it in for another 15 sec and it was soooooooooo horrible and it squeaked when i chewed it- is that right??? Maybe my taste buds are alot different than others?? pewp, i really wanted it to work for me :(

Mine has a little liquid in it too on the bottom, but I just use that to help moisten the sides of each bite as a spoon it out.  I'm guessing the squeaky part is it's dried out too much.  Have you tasted the batter?  Do you like how it tastes?  If you haven't, taste it first so that you can jazz it up to how you like - more sweetener or maybe some vanilla extract (like a tsp).  If you don't like how the batter tastes, the cake won't be any better :(
