(Late to the party, sorry)
Seriously, dood, you look terrifically healthy, and your awesomeness shines through, in spite of the grim countenance.
I'm so glad you got through the initial setbacks and have done so well.

You put into words what I hadn't fully figured out yet, about the heat.  It's not the getting hot, it's the NOT being able to return to normal.  Exactly right.

I don't dread summer anymore.  Glad you don't either.

Rock on, friend!

Chad,

What a success story!  I'm impressed with how much you're working out.  I bet you're toning even if the scale isn't moving as fast as you'd like it to.  Do you have access to a body composition analyzer to follow skeletal muscle mass and body fat mass?  It's a great motivator even when the scales aren't budging.  I just got an InBody 230 analyzer and I'm addicted to it like heroin (may need an intervention soon).

You look absolutely incredible!  I also have to add how much I admire your DS know-how.  You really "get it " and it shows in your responses to others as well as this post.  Thanks for paying it forward and for being such an inspiration!

Steve, thanks for the suggestions. I do have a very rudimentary (impedence-based) fat% to go by on my scale at home. I don't put too much credence in the actual numbers, just the trend (although I do think they are in the ballpark). I don't see a lot of movement in those numbers either. It's just a very slow process right now. The good news is at this weight, it only takes a few pounds to drop another percentage point in body fat. Having started at 72% (according to the scale!) and dropped to about a third of that feels pretty good. I tend to lose in spurts at this point (5 pounds in two days last week) which has been more frustrating compared to the very steady loss I had for the first year or so.

Thanks for the kind words!
