don't bother.....the only thing that insurance co will pay for are 2 vit ds:  the one we can't absorbVitd2 in oil base and vit d usp compounded injections, of which i have had but they don't seem to workvery well.  I take 300,000-450,000 IM every 12 weeks on top of my dry vit d 50,000/day oral  if you have a fsa you can get your vitamins that way, pre taxed helps a little.....

You can get it on eBay, too.  Might be cheaper than Sam's.

I am taking Otrho Molecular 50K Dry D.  They give it to people who are D deficient, but this, too, can be purchased on eBay.

Gonna be working with an endo.  My parathyroids (PTH) won't shut up!  I've already had a Sestamibi scan, and there is no tumor.

I get my Vitamin D at   applehealthfoods.net  50,000 iu. They do free shipping with over 100.00 order. David's choice brand. Don't know, maybe I need a different brand? I did check out the ortho molecular brand on Ebay. About $10.00 for 15 pills. I take 6 pills a day. But, maybe if it was in a more bio-available form I wouldn't need so much?  Thank-you for info. Good luck with endo!

Brenda I am not sure if applehealth is water dispersible?  you can get Biotech 50K 100 tablets for about 20$ and they do free shipment for 25$ or more, so just order 2 of them, that is what I do.  If my D was in your range I wouldn't add more, just me...if money is an issue, you can ask your dr to call in a RX to a compounding pharmacy for water-dispersible  D(3) and if have them make the dose you take, for me i only take 50K a day and that is about 20$ for more than 3 months or about 7$ a month, more than my rx costs. so a RX for me wouldnt make sense but if you are taking lets say 5x50K a day to equal 250K then the OTC for you is about 30$ a month if you get the rx it is your rx price......

or you can go the compounded Vit D3 injections....I take those also.....I am taking a dose tomorrow .....450K IM, i take about every 12 weeks or so.....

ps  there are many things out there that many drs don't know, including endos...they scare me the most....indecision

Hi,

Yes, different doctors are scary! David's Choice is the brand name of vitamin D, it is in a dry form. I will contact them to see if they can tell me more, if it is water dispersible. My original DS surgeon isn't around here any longer. I do see a bariatric surgeon, so I may see if he has ordered D injections before. I am sure my primary doctor would not have any experience ordering  Vit D injections. By now she is probably getting use to me asking her questions she has never heard before. mail   I do get my progesterone compounded, so maybe I will ask that pharmacy if they have compounded Vitamin D before. Thank you for posting, I sure want to get my levels in as good a range as possible.

I'd recommend that you switch to the Biotech dry D3-50. What what I've heard, it's the only dry D out there that consistently tests at the amount it is supposed to be. I've heard the David's Choice brand does not and while it says it is 50kIU it is testing far less than that amount. I was speaking about this just yesterday with Michelle (Vitalady).

Well, that is good to know. Will have to change over to Biotech, unfortunately I just received an order from David's Choice.  Thank-you!
