Hi everybody I had my surgery on April 21 2004 and I wonder it is normal after 2 years got some weight, can some one let me know please, I'm eating the same food a little more but not much like a 6 oz and I still throwing out and some times I drink some juice mix with water for the sugar, and on week ends I eat some deserts but just a little piece, because after surgery I'm sufering with dumping syndrome (reaction to the sugar). good luck and best wish to every body love Amparo

I'm assuming you are trying to say "gain" some weight. I was told that I would loose to the point people will say I'm too skinny (I'm there now) and then it would be normal to gain some back. How much I don't remember. I think you should talk with your surgeon and find out how much is a healthy gain. I was told to gain 10 pounds when I bottomed out.

Amparo - at 2 years our bodies have adapted to the new plumbing and if we're not diligent in maintaing a healthy eating lifestyle along with exercise..it can be gained back and more but the norm is about a 10lb gain. Keep a log of what you are eating and see where you need to make adjustments in your diet to improve calorie intake and expenditure. Surgery is a tool and we have to work at it harder as we get more from the initial date. I have started an intensive boxing, kickboxing workout at the gym and Im reshaping my body (however I have not lost any significant weight) though I haven't gained either....so in the long run I guess that is better to not have a gain. Go back to basics and see if that helps you lose the 7lb you have gained. Keep up the fight...we're in this for the long haul!!! And don't give up!
