Hello Family

Hello my name is Joi amd I am relocating from Germany to Ft Lauderdale , I'm looking for a support group, also a good gastric by doctor and a primary care doctor. I've been having some problems with weight gain, due to irregular thyroid levels, its really starting to get me down. I had surgery Jan 11 , 2005 was down to a 12 now I'm creeping back up, my 12's don't fit. I need to see if my stomache has really streched. I don't feel like I can eat like I use to before surgery, but want to make sure that everything is still intact. Any you can provide would be wonderful. I will be living in Davie Florida. Moving there for good on Nov 30 Sad in Germany

Hi Joi! Welcome back! I thought you were going to be in Germany longer but I'm sure you'll be glad to be back in the states! I can't help with doctors in the Ft. Lauderdale area (except for my wonderful p.s., Dr. Shuster!) You might want to contact Paula Kossoff on this site - she moderates a wls veterans support group in that area and it sounds like a really good one (I get their newsletters). My wls was 1/25/05 and now that my appetite has returned with a vengence it is a constant battle to keep the pounds off. As they say, they operated on our stomach, not our head so the mental desire to eat often wants to overrule the stomach's need for food. Good luck and know that you are NOT ALONE!! Vickie J.
