Hey Kim - If you have any Unjury powder, I have had no trouble getting protein by mouth by mixing the Unjury in puddings and cream of wheat and cream of chicken soup.  I use the g-tube for extra calories if i'm no where near 800 - and i also dump water in it to help with hydration.  Plus popsicles count as liquid too!  Tho- maybe 2 oz  per popsicle.

I dont necessarily have Unjury, I do have some Lean for Life variety pack that has some chicken soup and pudding in it...I bought a bunch of sample stuff pre-op so that I would have it on hand to try to see if I liked it.  Am I trying to get in 800 calories a day now?

oh - I don't know - when I went for my post op, Kevin wanted me to use my g-tube (i wasn't) so I could get close to 800 calories - I was only getting about 400 if that... so ask him at your post op - everyone may be different.

Cool, thanks!  I go to my first week follow up on Monday and will ask him then.  I guess that I should really be writing down what I am eating then.  I eat almost the same thing everyday, so that really wont be to hard to do.

Thank you Carole, What a wonderful amount of support you all are.  You guys are awesome.   Yeah,  I am now "scared to death" of sugar!  LOL!  I have pretty much always been a SF eater when it comes to sweets, my problem was always with carbs!!!  I am married to a Missouri boy and they have breakfast, lunch and dinner deep fried with gravy!!  HAHA.  I think I have my husband addicted to the SF Cream sicles and Fudgesicles.

Hi Mike, I just emailed you a break down from the paperwork that I have.  I forgot to mention that we are told to utilize the G tube for supplementation.  I have personally been told by both Dr. J and Kevin that I can use the G Tube for the protein shakes and extra water.  I hope that will help you.

No, what I am referring to is the G Tube that is in my belly.  It is a drain tube that I flush 3 times a day and also add my protein and pills into.  It is just a rubber tube with a stopper in it that is running into my old stomach.  I hope this helps.
