Anyone in Jacksonville who had the surgery..

and who was your surgeon. Going through pre-ops right now through Dr. Robert Cywes. Wondering if he has done anyone else on this board.

I had surgery on 7/15 with Dr Hosein Yasrebi. He's been doing this for 20+ years, operated on over a 1,000 patients and never lost a one. He can be strict (for your own good) but he's a very kind soul and very funny and I've never regretted one minute of working with him. I'm afraid I've never heard of Dr Cywes so I can't help there. Dr. Yasrebi has an open-forum meeting the first Tuesday of each month if you want to check him out (at Memorial Hospital). Good luck on your journey!

Hi Denise, I had open rny in Jacksonville with Dr. Yasrebi in December of 1999. I have not heard of your surgeon so I can not comment. Dr. Yasrebi however is WONDERFUL! I am doing very well and had no complications. If you have not made your final decision or have some doubts check out Dr. Yasrebi. Denise, I had open RNY on July 1st. I also used Dr. Yasrebi and LOVE him. I have had no complications including nausea. I am now eating almost anything in small amounts. He does make you lose 10-15% of your weight before he will do the surgery. It was hard but I'm so glad I was 40lbs. lighter after surgery. If I can be of help, please let me know. Dr. yasrabi, wanted me to loose like 80lbs before the surgery. I used ormaond Beach Dr. Overcash not a long drive at all. Carisa 200/500lbs
