Topic: RE: questions about fobi
People with the FP will have the same malabsorption of micronutrients that people with RNYs have. Afterall, the Fobi is just an advanced RNY. The limbs of the small intestine work the same way.

Soft, pureed foods; foods with no pieces in paste form are common foods you need to eat. For the first three weeks after surgery you should take a chewable multivitamin or a children's multivitamin.

I also had the Fobi Pouch done in Monterrey last week. I'm still here. I leave tomorrow. My surgeon was Dr. Horacio Guajardo. Your doctor should have a dietician. I would contact them. I was given a booklet outlining what and when I could eat. If you email Dr. Zorilla, I'm sure he can give you an email contact for his dietician.

Topic: HUNGER!!!!!!

I'm 1 1/2 years out from surgery.  I feel GREAT!!!!  I'm down 95 pounds from where I started; however my complaint seems to be that I seem to feel constantly hungry.  I eat my protein, and drink my water.  Do any of you have this problem?  If so please share and what has helped you.  Is this normal?  I would love any help with this issue.  I'm so scared that I"ll gain the weight back and so I want to really be careful to not eat so often.

Hi , I am new to this site and forum. I had my surgery in Monterrey, Mexico 3 weeks ago. My doctor says I can start on a soft diet. No soup, ensure or juices. I am eating egg, ground meat and vegetables cooked in broth, custard etc.
Does this mean I can try split pea soup and refried beans also. Any other thoughts of what I can try to add?

Topic: Choices... Before and After

I saw a commercial the other day and it really resonated with me. It was about making choices and how one good choice can often lead to another. I know that before WLS I often found that if I made 'bad' choice regarding food, I often would often give myself permission to throw in the towel and quit trying to make good choices. I think that the biggest difference for me after WLS is that I'm much more focused on trying to make good choices and much more forgiving when I make a bad choice, realizing that each new choice is a new opportunity to be where I want to be.

Soooo... when you stub your toe and make a less the optimal choice, how do you handle it? Do you handle it any differently after deciding to have WLS?
