Hi leah, like amy said I did not have the lap-band! Back in July I had the RNY and I have done really great. Then on the 17th of this month I had to have my gallbladder removed. But I'm really doing great now and things are only going to get better. Then this afternoon I went to the store and really got a good deal on chicken, then when I got home I was cutting up the chicken and almost cut my finger off, but I'm ok now, the doctor said that I will be ok. It was not as bad as I really thought it was. We are having a support meeting at henry medical center ed building tomorrow night at 6:30 I would like to see you there. Hug's jeannie (dorothy)

, , with myself, kroger had a sale on chicken quaters .29 cents a pound, so i went to the store and bought some. but as you know it will take a long time to eat just one chicken quater so i was cutting it in half and my knife sliped. i tried to cut mt finger off. but i made a mad dash to the doctors office and she took care of me. my pcp is the very best! thanks for listing hugs, jeannie

I feel you, I really thought that it was bad as well. But the CDC in Atlanta states that OBESITY is a health issue. But all the same I paid cash and now I'm starting my fight. I was really concerned about my health and I really feel a lot better, with little exceptions at this point. Just last Friday I had to have my GALLBLADDER removed. I was getting sick too much. But I'm better now with my foods. I just now have to wait another 8 to 10 weeks before I can start excersing. Then only thing I'm able to do at this point is WALK,WALK,WALK.. HUGHS, Dorothy (Jeannie)

Hi Jon, I had my surgery back in July and I really have lost a lot of weight. I noticed that you said you might have to pay cash for this operation. My surgery is a Gastric, he had the surgery himself. I used him because I really like him and he is really a great surgeron, I pad cash for my operation and it was cheaper in Alabama than here in Atlanta. I saved about 20,000.00. He has just started doing LAP BANDS, so check him out. You will need to go to the Alabama site, and click on his web site ( FREEMAN AND COMPANY ). I think that you will like him. Dorothy (Jeannie)

It really makes me sad! But I have a GREAT Doctor and she really is wonderful. But I think that she will be too far for you to see. It will depend on if you would not mind driving below the Airport. Just let me know and I will give you the information that you need. Dorothy (Jeannie)

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but I went out of town. I went to some friends house for THANKSGIVING and cooked for them. I really had a nice time! I have no family, both of my parents are gone and my only sister is in prison. So I really enjoyed cooking for her and family. I hope that you had a great THANKSGIVING, Dorothy (Jeannie)

Good morning! Just wanted to drop in and say good morning to all, and to wish those that are going out of town for THANKSGIVING a safe TRIP. Then those of us staying here in town HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I know for many of us that have just had our GASTRIC BYPASS we will not be eating much. As for me I'm going to be watching movies and resting because I'm still recovering from having my GALLBLADDER removed last friday. So there will be no TURKEY for me. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I'm going to post and ask that we become a more active BOARD, I have looked around in other states and the most active BOARDS that I see are the MAIN BOARD and ALABAMA. I know that we can make this BOARD active again, I'm new here and really would like to meet more of you. Even though many of us live far and near I know that we can at least talk on here. Since the OH updated a few weeks ago we can now make a friends list I really think that is great! This is a good way that we can keep intouch with our new friends. I'm no expert on some of the issues that some have but it is really nice to try and help with some words of incouragement. So lets see if we can post things that each of us would like to see. Even if you are down post anyway maybe someone can make you smile just a little for a moment. Dorothy (Jeannie)

Stephanie, For our meeting in December I can see if we can get the club house where I live at. I know that I can use it I just need to know what day. I has a kitchen that we can use we just have to clean up afterwards. We could even have a small christmas party. So at our meeting we could talk about it and draw names give me a call and we can talk if you like. Dorothy (Jeannie)

Topic: RE: My mind plays tricks on me!
Hi Amy, I know that it is really nice to be able to do all these things and not get tired anymore. I really like being able to complete the house chores and still have time for myself. Well, I came home form the hospital today and I'm feeling really sore, I guess that is a small price we pay. I had one really big stone that was giving me so many problems. So now I'm back to square one, another 8 to 10 weeks of just walking no excerising. I just hope that this does not really slow my weight loss down. Thanks again for being here! Dorothy(Jeannie)

Topic: RE: Update- Home from hospital
Home from the hospital. I'm feeling like I've been hit with a baseball bat. But other words OK. My stone was really a nice size, the doctor said I should have had more problems than I was having. She gave me a picture of the stone, when I seen it I was really suprised that it was as big as it was. But thank goodness it is out now. So now it is back to the drawing board for me. She said that it will be about 8 to 10 weeks before I will be able to do a lot. So there goes my weight loss. But I will be able to still walk. I will keep everyone posted on my recovery as the day's go by. Thanks to everyone that came and seen me in the hospital, and the ones that called me. Dorothy (Jeannie)
