Insurance Info....submitted to DR.
I am so excited, I have finally gotten my new insurance information and submitted it to Bariatric Center of Georgetown, KY and waiting for the next step. I need all the prayers needed that my insurance will cover. So here I sit patiently waiting...and patience is not my virtue.
Thanks everyone, Angela
Angela,
I just looked up BC/BS under the insurance link, and it looks like they're pretty supportive of WLS.
One person mentioned a 6-month diet, so you might have to do the same thing I've done for Humana.
What you'll want to find out is what BC/BS expects during that 6-month diet. (The insurance coordinator at Georgetown will let you know that.) Some companies don't want to approve you if you lose too well on the diet! Others don't mind if you lose as long as your BMI doesn't drop below 40.
I hope you can get some answers. It's hard to be patient when you have so many questions and you want the surgery RIGHT NOW!!!
Are you more interested in bypass or lapband? I'm leaning toward the band.
I hope we can meet at one of the support meetings at Georgetown. It sounds like we have a lot of the same questions.
