Kentucky I got a question 4 u

Hi my name is dee and I wondering if by chance anyone knew of any dr in the great Kentucky that accepted illinois medicaid? I have been going to springfield il since november 2005 and it looks like I wont have surgery till 2008 because of the long wait. I just was wondering I would love to have surgery sooner and by now I am willing to go to the moon to get it. thanks dee

Dee I don't have any knowledge of Dr.'s that will take Ill. medicaid, but I just wanted to welcome you to the Ky. boards and also say that I hope you are able to find what you need. One question: Is it feesible or even possible for you to move to Kentucky and go from that angle? Good luck and take care-- Dee

Hi Dee and welcome to the Kentucky Board. If I were you I would start by calling some of the doctors in the Louisville area. Just call the offices and see what they can tell you. I know that Dr. Allen has patients from all over the US, but I don't know if they are self pay or what. Try calling Norton Bariatric Center at 502-629-5626. They may be able to answer your questions or at least be able to tell you who could. Hopes this helps - Vicki :

Dee, I will send an email to the docs I know that take KY medicaid..they are probably the only one who can answer that questions. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to insurance much less medicaid or medicare..but if it's Ill. medicaid does that mean it's only for your particular state? give me until tomorrow I will email Dr. Sonnanstine and his insurance coordinator, her name is Kristine..she may even answer you direct.. you are welcome..Dr. Sonnanstine is from N. Ky closer to Cincy..so depends on how far you want to travel, he is young and an awesome surgeon. I spent alot of time with him last year as he trained me as a patient advocate so I watched him perform the actual procedures many times.. there are some awesome docs in Louisville too..not exactly sure which ones take the medicaid though.. I would call the offices to get more information then set your self up to visit the info sessions. Dee...I am not sure if I sent you the answer or not..I think I may have gotten side tracked when I tried to email today..that's what I get for posting when I am suppose to be working..lol anyway, Kristine and Dr. Sonnanstine's office said..she doesn't know the answer but does know they are out of network with Ill. medicaid. so what I suggest you do is contact someone from your provider and ask them that questions. sorry I havn't any idea but if you find out please do let us know..
