insurance exclusions! HELP!

Has any one had a exclusion about gastric bypass not being covered, and got around it some how? Thanks! Delilah

Iam sorry forgot to tell you i have b/c b/s blue access of ky, it says it doesnt cover gastric bypass even if it is a medical necessity, does anyone have this type ? and has gotton around the exclusion? I really want this surgery! Thanks! Delilah

I'll have to check into that one. Usually it depends on the wording of the exclusion. Can you send me an e-mail of the page that states this? I'll try to do what I can for you. Sharee

I don't have the same insurance as you, but my husband and I ended up having to change insurance's to get the surgery approved. We were lucky that it was during open enrollment time. I just wanted to let you know that was an option--for what it's worth! Take care and good luck-- Dee

That's a good idea -- switching insurances. And, open enrollment is in November, I think. So, it's approaching soon! Good luck to you!! Sharee

They just changed my husbands the 1st of July! guess i would have to wait see what they change to next year, stinks doesnt it? but iam looking into some things so wish me luck! and thank you for your info, and sherri iam going to send you that page to see what you make of it Thanks Delilah
