Im still not approved!!!!

Ok, Im getting worried, Its been over 2 weeks and still in review. I am on my 2 week liquid diet and schedualed for rny on the 14th and they still havent approved me. I have 4 or 5 comorbilities, BMI of 57 and its still in review!!!! Whats wrong with these people? My surgeons office said that it usually doesnt take this long. So Im starting to get mad. And then I think they have to approve me, OMG can I do this? Im scared I wont get approved and scared I will!!! LOL!!! I know Im crazy. I want wls but as it gets closer I get even more scared. I need some help here people!!! Thanks alot...

Amanda, I'm sure you will be approved at the last minute. Why don't you give them a call and see if they need any information from you or the doctor's office. It could be something very simple. Or, maybe the person handling your case is on vacation or something and the approval is laying on their desk waiting until they return. I'm sure everything will be just fine. I know what you mean about being scared. I'm scared I'm never going to have wls, and I'm scared I'm not ready to have it. LOL I mean I AM ready, but I don't know if I'm ready to give up my relationship with FOOD. It's like my life has been centered around food. Everything we do, and everywhere we go there is food. Why is that? Well, like I said to someone before. I guess I will just try to sleep more and eat less. ha ha That's the only sure way to stay away from food.... lol Hang in there!! And make a call to your insurance company and see where they are on your approval. Maybe they just need a little push, or some more information. Sharee

Hang in there Amanda! Most places I've seen wait til your approved then give you a date. Dr Velcu's office does some things a little differently but I'm sure they'll hear something soon. I was approved in 24 hours and Katrina was approved pretty quick as well, but I've heard of it taking up to a month, some people a week. My surgeons office does it over the phone with Ky Medicaid so maybe they sent your paperwork in, That could be the delay. I remember when I found out I was approved, I got kinda sick to my stomach knowing it wouldn't be much longer lol. I'm sure you'll hear something soon though. Goodluck!

Thanks... I think she gave them the info over the phone, and shes called them 3 or 4 times and they still say the samething. She said that she told them that my date is the 14th, and that they need to know something by Monday or Tuesday so that I can have my pre op appointment. So maybe we'll find out Monday hopefully. Thanks alot...

Amanda hang in there you don't need all this stress right now. I will say a prayer. Monday will be a great day. I would call them. You know what the say sometimes the more they hear from you the quicker it goes thru and kill them with kidness. Good Luck Jane

Amanda, it's a bummer that you've not heard back from your insurance company as of yet. I would encourage you to stay on them. I've read where people went as far as calling the case handler every other day and asking them, "Is it ready yet?"
